Five Questions with Lisa Ann Schreier

Who are you and what do you do?

I am “The Timeshare Crusader.” I write about, teach and consult about timeshare and timeshare issues. I don’t buy, sell, rent, list, transfer or represent any timeshare or any timeshare companies, so consumers can be assured of my unbiased and independent nature.

I’m currently finishing up my third consumer book, Timeshare By The Numbers-A Guide For Consumers.

My website is and you can find links to the Twitter account, Facebook page and blog there.

How do you bring ideas to life?

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your point of view), there is much going on in the timeshare world to write and teach about. I keep an eye out for what is going on in the industry and at the same time listen to what individual owners are going through. From all that, there really is a never-ending supply of topics to write and teach about.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

So many to choose from! I particularly enjoyed [amazon_link id=”1591843790″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Enchantment[/amazon_link] by Guy Kawasaki. At first read, I thought it was trivial. On the second read, I didn’t think it had much to say to anyone other than big companies with “products.” But on third read, I think I really discovered it. The book has much to offer anyone in business for themselves.

What is one piece of advice that you’d like to give?

Get into something professionally that you are passionate about or else you’ll be bored.

What is one idea that you’re going to bring to life in 2012?

Letting people know that there is an independent timeshare consultant out there to assist them and what the value of such a consultant is.
