Bogie Baranowski is the founder of BestDailyDates, a revolutionary dating platform which allows people to easily post and accept dates. It has been around since summer of 2011, and currently has a Facebook app, and soon will have an iPhone app. The idea is to offer something that makes dating in a busy world even easier, not a little easier but a whole lot easier, and a whole lot better. Night and day.

What are you working on right now?

First of all, congratulations on IdeaMensch. I attended your event here in NYC, and I really admire what you’ve done. I think it’s ballsy, and absolutely brilliant!

We are working on a beautiful iPhone app which is an extension of our web based dating platform. Users will be able to easily connect with other singles by posting and accepting dates. Phenomenal product, and it’s free!

Where did the idea for BestDailyDates come from?

I wanted to identify the biggest need possible, in terms of importance, and finding a romantic partner is the number one need after food and shelter. Say what you want, but deep inside you know it’s true. I also wanted to make a huge difference, a quantum leap with how that need is satisfied. Easy to use, fast dating platform.

What does your typical day look like?

I have a full time job, and I squeeze the most out of my evenings and weekends to do all the other things I’m also passionate about, and there are many. I usually fall asleep with an iPad in my hand. I keep few sheets of paper next to my bed because I usually wake up with a bunch of new ideas I don’t want lose.

How do you bring ideas to life?

Write them down first, and then I put them on a big white board in my bedroom. I have four big boards. I later break them down into small tasks, and I just start. Usually I don’t have all details figured out. They come to me as I go. I have a fantastic team working with me, and they’ve all been indispensable at bringing those ideas to life.

What’s one trend that really excites you?

Our lives being absolutely revolutionized by mobile devices. I don’t know how I lived without an iPhone. There is so much more to come, and we want to be a part of it.

What was the worst job you ever had and what did you learn from it?

I’ve been always picky about what I do, I never had a really bad experience, if there was one, it must have been short lived.

If you were to start again, what would you do differently?

I would have started earlier though I’m grateful for all the experiences that lead me to where I am today.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

Keep an idea log. It’s absolutely priceless. No matter how small, and silly the idea is, it may come in handy when you least expect it.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

I don’t believe in failure, I don’t believe it exists. There is always a way even if it’s not exactly what I first thought it will be. There is something tricky about deadlines though. If you call something a failure just because you missed a deadline, you will find it very difficult to succeed.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

Look around you and see what people are struggling with, see if you can come up with a way to do it in an easier and/or cheaper way.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be and how would you go about it?

I’d love to inspire people to think, once we start thinking, really thinking, many troubles just go away.

What are your three favorite online tools or resources and what do you love about them?

Google – I use it for email, notes, calendar, docs.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

There are so many, but there is one that sums it up the best: The Quantum Leap Strategy by Price Pritchett. You will never think the same again, and you should read it every night until it clicks. Big Leap by Gay Hendricks is an amazing book about removing the upper limit in our lives. Working With The Law by Raymond Holliwell is my recent favorite.

When was the last time you laughed out loud? What caused it?

A YouTube video with a kitten messing with a Doberman.

Who is your hero?

I look up to people who accomplished all they wanted despite circumstances and resistance, it’s a long list.
