Who are you and what do you do?
I am Leila Najafi, the LA Event Evangelist at Eventbrite.
Eventbrite is a self-service ticketing platform that helps you sell tickets and promote your event online. I lead the charge of Eventbrite’s success in the LA metro area with targeted local marketing efforts to grow the community of Eventbrite users.

How do you bring ideas to life?
I start with a vision for the event and ask myself the 5 W’s (Who, What, Where, When, Why). It’s important to have a clear understanding of each. Once I can visualize who my audience is and the purpose of the event than everything else falls into place.
What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?
[amazon_link id=”0470614188″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Brains on Fire[/amazon_link]! It’s one of those books that really sparks that fire in your belly and helps you to understand who your audience/community really is and how to engage with them. I highly recommend it!
What is one piece of advice that you’d like to give?
Always persevere!
What is one idea that you’re going to bring to life in 2012?
Aside from all the LA organizers I support, I plan on working with non-profits and small business owners throughout the year. Eventbrite is a great platform for both. If you fall into either of those categories feel free to reach out to me to see how we might be able to work together!
