Who are you and what do you do?
I am the co-founder of MoreThanGrades.com. We connect students and colleges for the purpose of enrolling in college. MoreThanGrades.com also has the only search tool that allows students to search for college scholarships, offered by colleges around the country, with one simple search (collegeship.com). We also offer live college fairs (virtualonlinecollegefair.com).
How do you bring ideas to life?
We bring ideas to life by speaking with the people we serve: students and colleges. We then provide tools that help them meet their goals.
What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?
I know it is not original, but the [amazon_link id=”0316346624″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Tipping Point[/amazon_link] by Malcolm Gladwell should be on everyone’s list.
What is one piece of advice that you’d like to give?
Never give up. Quitting should never be an option. Failures happen and should be used as learning experiences. The only reason not to continue is if a business does not meet its prime reason for existing: serving the needs of its users.
What is one idea that you’re going to bring to life in 2012?
We have been working on a unique tool that will allow colleges to enroll students into their social media groups. Until now, the only option that existed for enrolling students was for a college to ask the students to like them on Facebook, follow them on Twitter or join whatever social media group they wanted students to get involved in. This method of getting students involved does not work very well unless the student is very motivated. Our tool bypasses this by offering students an alternative and more effective way to enroll.
