Angelica de Millet – Creator of United Indecent Pleasures
Don’t give up. If you know what you’re doing, continue and don’t listen to the negative comments that people tell you.
Angelica de Millet is the creator of United Indecent Pleasures, a brand that incites the celebration of life through sophisticated, ironic and perverse products, created for pleasure. Born in Barcelona in the 70’s, she’s de granddaughter of the financier Félix Millet Maristany (catalanist and always a sponsor of culture) and Montserrat Tusell (naturalist guru and one of the driving forces of yoga with the Catalunya intellectuals of the fifties). Angelica had a childhood surrounded with all kinds of daily pleasures but with refined habits that will, with time, encourage her interest for the study of hedonism of this little girl that’s growing up ignoring that not everybody on the world has a labyrinth on their garden.

Her professional career starts when she’s only fourteen, when after squandering the family fortune on a record time spending it on Aston Martins, her father leaves with a Russian translator. Her mother, a glamorous, festive and hedonist woman opens a restaurant so she can give something to eat to her children. That’s when the “Mittus” is born, the only restaurant in the world where the ones taking care of the place are sure that hamburgers are made with steak. In an environment worthy of the secret Chicago clubs of the twenties, Angelica takes the role of the chef, creating her firsts sensorial experiments with her “Big Aphrodisiac Cup” and the “Sensorial Sausage”. She also shows some interest on the pleasures of the soul through artistic creation; making up erotic forms with Russian salad or sculpting the heads of their most beloved restaurant clients in “papier maché”, that after a while, she’ll turn into puppets and try to sell them. It’s the start of an exciting professional life, doomed to the absolute economic failure, working as an illustrator, writer, comic book artist, screen writer and theater interpreter of puppet theater, humoristic poem writing, herbalist and scent creator, muti-textured jam creator, failed peasant, cat tamer (obviously an impossible mission) and specialized farmer of tomatoes.

Finally, she finds a modus vivendi whoring her brain as a publicist, hiding her identity under de “nenenfree” pseudonym. Of her collaboration as publicist of Chocolat Factory with graphic designer David Ruiz, is born her passion for design and her fascination with chocolate, and altogether that’s the starting point for United Indecent Pleasures and their first product, the 8 Inches Dark Chocolate Cock.

What are you working on right now?

I’m doing the final works to launch United Indecent Pleasures on an international level.

Where did the idea for United Indecent Pleasures come from?

I wanted to make a job that allowed me to have a free life on a natural environment; I love the internet because it let us work from anywhere, so I asked myself: what tools I have to create an internet business? My work as a copy gave two magic elements:

 1. I usually work with the great Catalan (and internationally known) graphic designer David Ruiz (Ruiz+Company) with who I have a great relationship.
 2. I know pretty well the world of chocolate because of my collaboration with Chocolat Factory and their bosses are excellent collaborators and friends.

I knew there was a chance of business on the field of sex-chocolate-luxury, because all I saw was cheap and of low quality looking for the easy joke and not the real hedonism. And that’s how I developed the idea: hedonistic and delicious objects that combine insolence and sophistication.

They liked the idea and they made it really easy to create our first product: 8 Inches Dark Chocolate Cock filled with…

What does your typical day look like?

I wake up at 6 a.m. with my head full of ideas and I go to the computer on my office where I dump them all. I shower, have breakfast and I go for a run on the woods. About 9 a.m. I get back to work until 5 p.m. The rest of my time I read, go for a walk, think, cook…

How do you bring ideas to life?

Insist. Insist. Insist. I take it as if it was a steeplechase, an obstacle race, once you know it’s going to be difficult to get to the end you take it as if it was a game, and of course you play to win.

3 trends that excite you?

Trend towards ecology, social movements like the one in Spain with the “indignados”, the world without borders that is the internet.

What is the worst job you ever had and what did you learn from it?

Being the executive copy of an insurance company; I learned that I didn’t wanted to be the executive copy of an insurance company, or any other company, for that matter.

If you were to start again, what would you do differently?

I would take things more calmly and with more sense of humor.

What is the one thing you did/do as an entrepreneur that you would do over and over again and recommend everybody else do?

Don’t give up. If you know what you’re doing, continue and don’t listen to the negative comments that people tell you.

Tell us a secret…

I use my product as a sexual game and I have so much fun with it.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

Create a company of “happy funerals.”

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read, and why?

”My family and other animals” from Gerald Durrell. Because reading it is a great pleasure.

If you weren’t working on United Indecent Pleasures, what would you be doing?

Creating some other business that made me have so much fun as this one.

Three people we should follow on Twitter, and why?

 • David Lachapelle
 • Sam Roddick
 • Jorge Waguensberg

They are interesting, and contribute with many things.

When is the last time you laughed out loud? What caused it.

This morning I was in bed with my lover, we were laughing of our appearance we had when we waked up.

Who would you love to see interviewed on IdeaMensch?

Any chef who thinks out of the box.

Why is your product so expensive?

Because it’s a very expensive product to create, it’s handmade with three chocolate layers so it’s more crunchy and filled on two levels, on the top part we put the filler the client wants, elaborated to obtain the color and fluidity of authentic semen. The under part it’s filled with Ghanaian chocolate cream that is incredible. If we also count the packaging and design we get the price that we get. Since day one we decided to go with the quality: we may sell less but we have and exceptional product.

What’s my life philosophy?

Living each day as if it was the last.
