Where did the idea come from?

Coming from a Computer Engineering background (specialized in ASP.NET technology), I always wanted to start a business of my own, and however, equally important was to first get some experience by working on different types of projects.

Having a good relationship with a business owner back in the United States, I worked for him as freelancer along with a full-time job as a developer for a start-up. Limited to explore my skills in the workplace, I started focusing more on my freelance projects for International clients, mostly from the United States.

It was surely a tiresome step to focus on my full-time job along with the freelance work, however, the passion to start a business of my own kept me going on.

Being a one-man show it started becoming difficult for me to manage those existing client’s project requirements within time. Therefore, I was simultaneously looking for a business partner to rent an office and hire 1-2 employees to continue in-time delivery for the ongoing projects.

I had a friend (Graphic Designer) who happened to start a business of his own and was looking for a collaborator too. Luck favored me again and I decided to collaborate with him and bring an existence to my company idea under the already registered name of Glorywebs, by my designer friend.

What did I learn?

No gain, without pain!

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

First of all, I make it a point to reach the workplace at the same time my employees do (now a team of 30). Because, what I feel, if one is leading a company by setting some rules and regulations, it is the leader who has to follow it first to encourage others in the organization to do so.

Next, I prepare a to-do-list at the start of the day by considering pending work and projects in queue to perform distribution of tasks more productively.

Using a communication software tool, I encourage my employees to maintain real-time communication and transparency of project progress to ensure everyone is on the same page.

What did I learn?

Offering a single dashboard to assign daily tasks to multiple employees for their multiple projects make it easy to manage and track the status of the project on-the-go. This way, you can take immediate actions and ensure projects are being completed as per plan.

How do you bring ideas to life?

With limited experience of managing the organization in the initial days, I hired experienced SEO and marketing executives to understand the benefits of growing your business via online platforms.

Being from a technical background I always used to keep myself updated with the latest technologies and methodologies to implement in the development process for our client’s projects, however, the idea of growing my business was also contributed by skilled employees working in my organization.

What did I learn?

Enhancing my knowledge by working with a team of expertize allowed me to improve in analyzing the best solutions and implementing them for the betterment of organization growth.

A passion for reading online and offline materials is the one habit that allows me to be more productive as an entrepreneur.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

I would recommend aspiring and growing entrepreneurs to realize the importance of reading and learning each day of their life.

What did I learn?

With better knowledge, you can reduce dependency on others while making important decisions for business growth.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

With limited knowledge of marketing (which is one of the most important factors for any business growth) at the initial stage, I hired two experts with a year of experience each.

Considering them to perform tasks that could help the business grow, turned out a nightmare. I was not receiving results as per the salary offered to them. However, at the same time, I myself took interest in knowing about the process of marketing and search engine optimization.

This helped me to involve my suggestions in the expert discussions which surely helped us come up with winning promotional strategies and follow the same pattern till date.

What did I learn?

Without less knowledge, I was a handicap to offer suggestions to my marketing team in the initial days. Therefore, to be a part of the team, I myself took interest in learning about the growth opportunities and perform them confidently.
