BG Martin Schweitzer uses his 30 years of experience in the United States Civilian and Military industry leadership and senior executive management to serve as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Network Designs, Inc. Furthermore, he is responsible for synchronizing the corporation’s efforts to provide customer service through effective executive leadership and field integration. General Schweitzer also serves as Ballard Brands LLC & Ballard Hospitality LLC Board of Advisor Member. The company is a multinational business specializing in the food industry. It is a global leader in the provision of comprehensive workforce solutions and remote site services that include lodging, housekeeping, and facility management. Finally, Martin serves as RGG (Red Gate Group) Board of Advisor Member. RGG specializes in the delivery of high quality, client centric technology integration services across the globe. Examples of RGG clients includes defense agencies, interagency working groups and Secretary of Defense’s office.
Where did the idea for Network Designs, Inc. (NDi) come from?
The company has an objective to provide essential solutions to Governmental agencies that pertain to web issues and web development. According to corporation’s founders, the idea of NDi stemmed from the ever increasing rate of cybercrimes in America. Also, the company wanted to create websites and applications that meet all customer requirements regarding security concerns.
What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?
Whereas each day is different, I start the day early enough so that I can have sufficient time to strategize, assess and organize activities before any meetings. My experience from the 29+ years in the military have prepared me for all sorts of situations.
How do you bring ideas to life?
By engaging in conversations with colleagues and clients. In my experience, an idea is made better when shared among the right people. Usually, customers bring their specifications and concerns, and my team engages in coming up with the right solutions. I use the
What’s one trend that really excites you?
Technological advancements. Technology is the only opportunity for all firms in the world to gain efficiencies and compete at higher levels. I believe that with technology all organizations can achieve international standards regarding service delivery and improvements.
What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?
Formulating and implementing my work strategy. Irrespective of whether it’s digital strategy, creative strategy or strategic planning, having a plan is one of my key strengths. Consequently, I have formulated several strategic habits aimed at ensuring I am always working at the highest productivity levels.
As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?
Continuous learning. Learning is a process. In entrepreneurship, mistakes and successes are the best learning opportunities. Thus, it is important to interact with right minded and smart people when developing an idea or solving a problem. Learn as much as possible.
What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?
Lunch with my friends. I believe my success also depends on friends. I share a lot with friends whenever I am faced with a life challenge.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?
Jim Collins’ classic book “Built to Last” is one piece of work that entrepreneurs should read. The book contains a ton of research on great businesses that continue to prosper and grow and ones that focused on profits and consequently fizzled out. The book talks about creating business that is a community loved by employees and clients. According to the author, any company should focus on providing value to its clients. Service delivery is the key to successful businesses.

I work hard to influence the staff of NDi in a positive way based on my many years of service and experience in our industry.
