Boris is widely known for his business strategy and technological expertise. Originally from Lviv, Ukraine, Boris was born into a family of engineers and grew up solving problems and challenges. His problem-solving ability and fascination built his entrepreneurial DNA and development of business and commerce. Before he founded Health Ultimate Global, Boris worked for Wells Fargo, and at age 19, launched his first business, BD Investments. Following, he founded a successful food delivery tech platform.

All of these ventures have solidified his business acumen and led Boris to the founding of Health Ultimate Global. Dobrin has guided the complete overhaul of the original company, and now oversees engineering and sales for VirtualCareMD, HUG’s flagship product, providing 24/7, 365 days a year access to affordable, convenient and proven telehealth now available for the entire family.

Where did the idea for Health Ultimate Global come from?

Due to the fact that I have a strong background in building technology that connects businesses and providers together, I was approached by a venture capitalist who owned a telehealth company last year to join as a CEO and as a partner. After one year, I decided to purchase the rights to the business. So, to answer your question, it’s a little bit of both. My background in building technology for companies, and an opportunity that came my way.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive? How do you bring ideas to life?

My days are extremely busy; they’re blocked into 15-minute time increments and scheduled 90 days out. I use a task management system to track everything, which helps me manage my time. I work from around 6:00 am until 1:00 or 2:00 am every day, seven days a week, nonstop. My days are very intense but successful.

What’s one trend that really excites you?

Definitely advances in technology. Technology today is so advanced that people can receive healthcare services virtually without leaving the comforts of home, which is pretty amazing. Providing high-quality service virtually at low costs is what really excites me.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

It’s just about persistence and resilience. I’ve overcome a lot of obstacles, and I always try to resolve and diffuse the situation as much as I can.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Slow down and crawl before you run.

Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.

I believe that everybody is going to move to Mars in our lifetime.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

Read, read and read. Never stop educating yourself. Also, being open to others’ views and ideas is extremely important in business.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?

Building the right relationships with the right people. You have to identify who your target is as an entrepreneur. I always create a plan of action before I meet a potential business partner for the first time. I plan how I’m going to reach out to them, what I’m going to talk to them about, and what would make them interested in talking to me. This has helped me a lot in my career.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

I have lost money by getting into the business with people who I shouldn’t have gone into business with. I overcame it by completing additional due diligence, and just making smarter, slower choices.

What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?

I bought my whole team lunch last week, which made everybody happy, so it was money well spent.

What software and web services do you use? What do you love about them?

We use G-Suite a lot in our company. I love that it allows my team to communicate collaboratively and work on projects simultaneously and remotely.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

They should read “Think and Grow Rich“, by Napoleon Hill. This is a book written by an individual who interviewed the wealthiest and the most successful people on the planet to understand what makes the brain tick and work the way they do. It’s almost a roadmap about the power of the mind and the necessary measures that people have taken to achieve their goals, and how one can bolster those things to be able to accomplish their own goals.
