Charles Lubbat

I take great pride in my work ethic, but it is important to recognize how a lack of work-life balance will ultimately have an adverse effect on productivity.

Charles Lubbat is a swimming pool consultant from Atlanta, Georgia. He is an experienced professional who has spent many months and years travelling the world to keep himself sharp and to open his mind to brand new ideas that can be applied to his business.

Where did the idea for your consulting company come from?

I was always interested in the world of business. But I discovered this incredible market through my travels. Whether you’re an average middle-class family or a wealthy conglomerate there’s a place for my line of work.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

Honestly, I think a strong work ethic is the key to making my day productive. But my schedule is never the same. It depends on the project.

How do you bring ideas to life?

I work closely with my clients to assess their needs and expectations. When I understand those, I can provide the best possible results.

What’s one trend that really excites you?

Entrepreneurship and the sheer number of new startups is the most exciting trend for me. From personal experience, I’m also incredibly passionate about nomadic entrepreneurs who work remotely.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

New challenges. That’s also why I constantly travel the world. Learning and discovering new things keeps the passion alive.

If you were to start again, what would you do differently?

Anything that kept me trapped and feeling like I’m not making the most of my skills.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

I take time away from my work by travelling the world. It keeps me excited and it rejuvenates me in both mind and body.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?

Always provide each client with a unique, tailor made approach.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

A lack of balance in my personal and professional life.  A good work-life balance is the key to success, I feel.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

Consulting is an up and coming industry. And these days you can work as a consultant remotely from anywhere.

What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?

I’m a bachelor so I decided to spend my weekend in San Antonio at a Spurs home game and taking in the incredible River Walk.

What software and web services do you use? What do you love about them?

I prefer services that I had a hand in designing. That helps me better give my clients what they want.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

Walter Isaacson wrote a book on Benjamin Franklin’s insights. Those insights are still so relevant to entrepreneurship today.
