Greg Hollis – President/CEO Trinity Protection Services, Inc.
Inspect what you expect..
Greg Hollis spent a career of 20 years in the mortgage industry, working, managing, and owning mortgage companies. Over his career Greg has been responsible for lending more than $1 billion dollars in mortgages.

By age 28 Greg had built and sold a successful Mortgage brokerage, Pinnacle Financial Services, Inc. Shortly after, he was solicited for, and accepted a position as Vice President, Mortgage Division of a national bank, where he was responsible for establishing start up and operating procedures, as well as obtaining OCC approval for DC’s Theodore Roosevelt National Bank to open with a mortgage division.

During Greg’s mortgage tenure he was responsible for making a success of a then little known mortgage program, FHA 203(k) rehab loan. The success of this program allowed HUD to insure loans in metropolitan Washington DC under the program from a low in 1988 of less than 200 loans, to over 4000 loans by 1993. His phenomenal success in this area granted him unlimited speaking engagements, seminars, a radio show, and the moniker “the 203(k) man”.

After a successful career in the mortgage industry, Greg set his sights and abilities on the security industry. After working in an intensive sales training program under Ken Dash, President, CEO of Smart Homes Technologies, Greg was ready to venture on his own again. He, along with John White, started Trinity Protection Services, Inc.

Trinity began formation in 2000 with formal incorporation in April 2001, and Greg began taking over as sole shareholder after a buyout in February 2002. Since then, Greg has presided over exceptional year over year growth since the company’s existence, including licensing in 23 states to date.

What are you working on right now?

Focused on increasing our brand awareness

Where did the idea for Trinity Protection Services, Inc. come from?

It actually came from a friend of a friend introducing me to the business

How do you make money?

We provide security services to residential, commercial, and the government. We are paid for that service.

What does your typical day look like?

There are no “typical” days for me. That is the beauty of my business.

How do you bring ideas to life?

I visualize, dwell on them, and pray. A LOT.

What’s one trend that really excites you?

In my business when trends bring opportunity it usually means something bad in the world has happened, and that does not “excite” me at all.

What was the worst job you ever had and what did you learn from it?

I was a dishwasher after school while in high school. I learned that I better graduate and that I HATE washing dishes.

If you were to start again, what would you do differently?

I would graduate from MIT, then go to Harvard Law. From there, it would be a walk in the park.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

Inspect what you expect.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

Well, today I lost an employment claim in California. Yesterday I was rejected for a bid we submitted, Last Friday…… the point here is, success involves the ability to go from failure to failure without the loss of enthusiasm.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

One could represent home buyers who go through real estate transactions receiving substandard, and even illegal treatment. There is a BUNDLE of money to be made there, not to mention an opportunity to assist.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be and how would you go about it?

I would change ALL peoples color to be rainbow striped. Not sure how to go about that.

Tell us a secret.

Google, Wikepedia, and Bing. I still marvel at the amount of data you can receive literally in nanoseconds.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

“Think & Grow Rich: Your Key to Financial Wealth and Power” by Napoleon Hill. It changed my life. I was looking for an idea about money making, but this book is about much, much more. It is about permanent eternal truths. It should be required reading for middle school students.

Three people we should follow on Twitter and why?

1. Barrack Obama, because he’s president. 2. Marco Rubio, because he is a dynamic person. 3. Rachel Maddow, because she can describe an issue unlike anyone I have encountered, bar none.

When was the last time you laughed out loud? What caused it?

Today! Not sure just what, but I find lots in life interesting enough to being intriguing and funny.

Jesus, Gandi, Martin Luther King, JFK, Bob Johnson, Harriet Tubman, Harry Fischer, Marshall Neason, Chris Grady, (I could go on)

Is there truth in the saying that in order to win awards from the federal government your company needs to be a known entity within that agency?

A Russian man told his wife to take an umbrella to work with her, how could she be certain that he was right?
