What does your typical day look like?

Get the kids to school, then a solid hour of Beachbody – P90X, Insanity Asylum; 12 hours of non-stop work; client meetings, sales calls; family dinner; help kids with homework; catch up on some reading and playing with my IPAD; an hour of TV and off to bed.

3 trends that excite you?

Clean Energy, Global Business Climate, Changing Political Landscape.

How do you bring ideas to life?

I usually sell them to a customer and convince them they need it; once I prove it out with them, then I figure out how to scale it.

What inspires you?

Entrepreneurism, building something from nothing; taking something discarded and making it beautiful and wanted.

What is one mistake you’ve made, and what did you learn from it?

Just one?  🙂  I put my trust in people and there have been times that I have gotten burned for it; didn’t see the political angles or the downside; I have lost money and positions because of it.  I still choose to trust, because that is how I lead, but now I follow Reagan’s advice – Trust, But Verify.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

Movie Theaters should have in-house babysitting and dining so you can have a date with your wife more regularly and not spend a fortune.

What do you read every day, and why?

Wall Street Journal, CNN, Forbes, a variety of business articles and blogs; ESPN; I like to keep current with news and potential impacts on business; I am also a sports fanatic, at times playing 3 fantasy teams at once.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read, and why?

I recently re-read Blue Ocean Strategy; the simple elegance of plotting out strategy and competitive positioning on a chart is a very effective way to communicate with our team and unify around a common vision.

What is your favorite gadget, app or piece of software that helps you every day?

I don’t go anywhere without my iPhone and my laptop; they are an appendage.

Three people we should follow on Twitter, and why?

Let me go against the grain here and say that this is becoming a waste of time; I don’t even have the time to read 140 characters if it doesn’t pertain to my business or my family.

Who would you love to see interviewed on IdeaMensch?

Find an immigrant who has come here in the last 5 years and started a business and/or already made a small fortune. This is the essence of America.

When is the last time you laughed out loud? What caused it.

I love to laugh and am always looking for a good gag.  Sometimes it is the simple things like watching my son eat an ice cream cone in 90 degree heat and seeing it melt all over him in 2 minutes; but he is loving every minute of it.  It is funny and priceless at the same time.

What are you going to do next, after The Pedowitz Group?

I want to buy entire impoverished city blocks; renovate them, turn them into something beautiful and create jobs.

What scares you the most?

It used to be death, but I have come to accept that.  Then it was a fear of failure, but I find that it motivates me more to succeed.  Not having someone’s respect or someone questioning my integrity scares me because it makes me question how I live my life and if I am doing the right things.

(You can dislike or disagree with me, just respect me 🙂 )
