Jill Albert, President/Founder of Direct Results – Jill is a recognized leader and innovator in radio marketing. She has launched products with as little as $30k and through meticulous planning, creative execution and implementation, created household names. Jill has developed and implemented almost a half a billion dollars in successful, response driven campaigns. Clients include Toyota, AAA, Hershey, EarthLink, Cigna, 20th Century Fox, USC, UCLA and many others. In 2009, she developed a groundbreaking ROI based analytics system which raised industry standards for direct response advertisers. Jill has twice been recognized as a “Top Women in Sales and Marketing” by the American Women in Radio and Television organization and has numerous awards for media innovation as well as Client recognition for her contributions to their business growth.

Where did the idea for Direct Results come from?

I conceived it as the optimal opportunity to drive customer acquisition through the relationship people have with their favorite radio stations. I had a great deal of experience in advertising and radio. I knew broadcasters had a good amount of unsold inventory. I could aggregate it, create format networks and bring to advertisers not using radio and show them how to acquire new customers by effectively advertising to this audience, at reduced rates…. delivering a targeted campaign with strong ROI.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

I spend the day sharing my vision of driving engagement and response through effective audio advertising– meeting with broadcasters and advertisers, managing direct reports, creating amazing opportunities, solving challenges and planning for the company’s future.

How do you bring ideas to life?

This is fun stuff. Radio is a lifestyle media. If we can dream it, we can create it. We are very good at imaging the customer experience and maximizing impact for both audience and broadcast partner.

What’s one trend that excites you?

Traffic -the more there is, the longer people are in their cars listening to/ engaging with radio… and it continues to get worse! Radio engages and entertains people in traffic.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

I am extremely logical and can create solutions that work for multiple partners… I always find a way!

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

I organize, plan, execute, obsess, optimize… this leads to success and freedom!

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?

I always do what I say I will do. I always make it happen. People can rely on best outcomes.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

I trusted someone because I admired them. I overcame this by starting my own business. I left the nest.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

NCAA basketball tournaments need to reorganize to resell tickets on double headers. The demand is there and they can increase revenue and engagement by 40%… easily.

What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?

A new red blouse… ok it was more than $100 but if you feel good, you look good and if you look good, you ooze confidence, conviction, truth, success.

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive? How do you use it?

Google – It’s a simple answer but we can find anything on it.
