Joshua Lefkovitz – Founder of The Zing Anything

Joshua Lefkovitz is the owner and founder of a medical device manufacturing business and a consumer product development company specializing in health and wellness products. The Zing Anything product line was developed after using various fruits, herbs and vegetables to create flavored water during my daily routine. By using all-natural ingredients to create my own infused water, I was confident my beverage was free from artificial ingredients and excess calories.

I quickly realized flavored water was more enjoyable to consume and started experimenting with various combinations and ways to enhance the flavor, which lead to the creation of the Zing Anything product line.

What are you working on right now?

New products, a building buy, and a multitude of other tasks.

Where did the idea for The Zing Anything come from?

The Zing Anything product line was developed after determining there was a need for a tool which would allow the consumer to create their own, uniquely infused, flavored beverage – nearly instantly. By using all-natural ingredients to create infused water, the consumer can be confident their beverage is free from artificial ingredients and excess sugar. Zing Anything wants to make a positive contribution toward improving daily diets – both in the food we eat and the beverages we drink. We hope our products can become a driving force in helping consumers divert from unhealthy beverage choices leading to a healthier lifestyle. With the Zing Anything products, users can avoid sugars and opt for more nutritional hydration choices utilizing all-natural ingredients.

What does your typical day look like?

Email from the time I wake till mid-morning. I try to knock out phone calls thereafter, and then in the afternoon I can chip away at the projects that rule the day with priority. Since I am an avid runner, after work, I will hit the streets for a few miles. Cook dinner with my girlfriend (rarely eat out), and then I get back to email and project chipping in the evening for a few hours.

How do you bring ideas to life?

After configuring an idea, I like to let it sit around for a good while to see if jumps off the page or not. I also like to refine them over time, and further consider if the idea is worth the exercise and investment to bring to life.

What’s one trend that really excites you?

The trend towards obesity and how our beverage diets can have a large impact on our daily calorie intake.

What was the worst job you ever had and what did you learn from it?

Never been one to hate my jobs, however, not to say I haven’t been knocked back many times.

If you were to start again, what would you do differently?

At certain cross roads in my businesses, I would have focused on one area instead of another. Sometimes you accidentally focus on less profitable areas of business (or ones with less potential), simply because you want them to perform better than they do.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

Read and think.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

It was IP related.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

Someone needs to develop a “5-hour energy” shot for the gas tank. i.e. just like those fuel optimizers out there, except more effective to the point that the solution pays for itself in gas savings. That and great marketing would make it a success.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be and how would you go about it?

Our diets! World population is growing and so is obesity.

What are your three favorite online tools or resources and what do you love about them?

Outlook, Google, Amazon – I lean on these three the most.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

Biographies or Auto-biographies of business moguls.

When was the last time you laughed out loud? What caused it?

I have a neighbor that recently had a baby and she cries all the time. We are never bothered by it, but get the sense that it’s abnormal. As we were walking down the hall the other night, my girlfriend was swinging her Citrus Zingers, and it bumped their door. The baby immediately started to cry, and we ran inside as quickly as we could. Laughing all the way…

Who is your hero?

In business, George Soros, Howard Hughes, and John Malone.
