Part organizer, part artist, Justin Klosky strives to help people find organizational discipline in their lives. Through his company, the O.C.D. Experience, Justin brings full-service organization to high-profile clients and businesses across the country. Growing up in Coral Springs, Florida and suffering from the affliction of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Justin overcame his disease, graduated from New York University, starred in CBS’s “Guiding Light.”

Justin now channels his OCD to bring organizational functionality to himself and others. Fully embracing new technologies, Justin is always eager to clean, organize, and teach the discipline to maintain organization through his company, The O.C.D. Experience.

O.C.D. has now made its mark in New York City, Los Angeles and Florida and other top US Cities.

Justin and O.C.D.’s services include organizing people’s homes, performing client therapy by teaching organizational skills, staffing businesses for corporate clients, training Executive Assistants in the entertainment industry, working with a major NY Retailer to bring the O.C.D. Experience to their top elite shoppers, and training Housekeepers and Nannies and House Personnel to be more effective and efficient in their daily routines.

When not traveling between Los Angeles and New York City for work, Klosky loves playing the latest and most advanced video game systems, exploring up and coming trends in technology, having outdoor adventures, hosting game nights, and listening to and creating music. Justin has also just concluded a book deal with a major American Publisher, to be published in 2014.

What are you working on right now?

I am working on my book titled “Organize & Create Discipline- An A-Z Guide to an Organized Existence” along with growing other divisions of the O.C.D. Experience. Always eager to expand the organizational consulting branch of the O.C.D. Experience, I am actively meeting and interviewing professional organizers throughout the nation to expand Organize & Create Discipline.

Where did the idea for the O.C.D. Experience come from?

The O.C.D. Experience, as well as Organize & Create Discipline, came from the simple fact that everyone needs to be better organized. Prior to me starting Organize & Create Discipline I was working for influential mangers, executives, producers, actors and directors in the entertainment business who all needed better organizational systems in their lives and business. When I found myself providing these services within my daily responsibilities I knew there was a demand for this and needed to follow the passion inside me to help others.

What does your typical day look like?

There is never a typical day for an entrepreneur. I am sure anyone reading this with OCD knows there is certainly never a typical day for someone who has OCD in the clinical form. I am always working on business development, interacting with clients, creating, prepping for upcoming speaking engagements, and traveling!

How do you bring ideas to life?

ACTION! The best way to bring anything to life is by acting on it. Nothing will ever get done if action isn’t being taken. It is also vital to have creative, supportive and brilliant people surrounding you.

What’s one trend that really excites you?

Handheld personal computers and devices excite me. It expands much further beyond this technology into nano technology, but I love where laptops are going. The age of integrated touch screens is upon us!

What was the worst job you ever had and what did you learn from it?

I worked for Benny Medina for period of my life and to this day I would say he was the hardest boss to have because of his desire for perfection in his life and naturally his clients careers. It certainly wasn’t the worst job I had, as I worked as a busboy in my teens, but in my professional career it took the cake as the most challenging and emotional job. What I learned from Medina was that there was always a way! No was never an option! And if there wasn’t a way…find one. I also learned to triple check an email before it went out to a client or someone we were working on a deal with. There is nothing less impressive than getting an email with spelling and grammar errors, especially when you are doing large deals with people. He was also very considerate as he always made a phone call to his friends on their birthdays no matter how busy he was. All lessons learned.

If you were to start again, what would you do differently?

Not a damn thing. I firmly believe in fate and that we all are on a path with specific lessons to learn. It could be in this life or the next. All of our choices will lead us in a direction that will challenge us to achieve a greater purpose. We just don’t know what that is until we pass the next test.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

Get organized and stay organized. I live it, practice it, am constantly learning new ways to go about it. In the end saves me time, money and brain power.

What is one problem you encountered as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

You can never be in two places at once. A good friend taught me that being able to replicate my service and create a demand for the service I am providing will lead to more work and more need of me. The more people need me and the O.C.D. Experience the more successful my business will be and the demand will grow. It seems so simple, but it is the most complicated part of growing a business.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

I’m working on a variety of organizational products that hopefully will empower people to make changes in their lives and better themselves. They will be available in 2013/2014.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be and how would you go about it?

I would change everything about the TSA, from their new screening procedures to their ineffectiveness, their inability to get masses of people through security in a timely and efficient manner… and allow people to feel comfortable while traveling. I would also work with them to establish a non-paid frequent traveler line for people who visit the airport more than four times a month.

Tell us a secret.

I see dead people. No really…I have incredible spiritual intuition and have had encounters with ghosts, spirits and love when I sense energy of past souls. Our world is much more complicated than we allow ourselves to believe.

What are your three favorite online tools or resources and what do you love about them?

I like Google desktop because it makes browsing the web and searching your computer seamless.
Box.net, a cloud storage company for sharing and storing files that can be accessed anywhere in the world.
because it’s an innovative and unique perspective on organization, life, and efficiency.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

Michio Kaku’s Physics of the Future. Because I think everyone should know how science will shape human beings in our daily lives in the next 100 years. Kaku has a way of explaining complicated, technological, and scientific terms and ideas, simply enough where everybody can understand. The advancements are mind-blowing and mentally preparing for these transformations is so important to know.

Three people we should follow on Twitter and why?

@MrJackO: Jack Osbourne, because he’s candid, raw and honest.
@OCDEvents: Heather Schertz. She was named top 30 event planners under 40 and has original and creatively designed ideas for the DIY-er.
@JoshGad: Josh Gad. Because he’s funny as f***.

When was the last time you laughed out loud? What caused it?

My fiancé causes me to laugh out loud quite a bit. I never was the type of person to laugh out loud a lot, but she has a way of making me smile and bellow out.

Who is your hero?

Tony Robbins. I admire Tony Robbins for the business he’s created off of empowering and helping people.

How do you balance your work life from your professional life?

Carefully. There will never be enough time in the day to finish everything so you must know when to put something down and walk away until tomorrow. Set priorities, stick to them and make time for the people you love.

Do you believe in God?

I believe in something larger than us and bigger than anything we can possibly imagine. I urge everyone to invest time into learning about space, dimensions, and energy in regards to transcending to a higher place in life. If there is a God he has a plan and the more centered you are, the more you know yourself and aren’t afraid to express yourself, the more you will love yourself and be open to something greater than you.
