A good businessman is one who knows the importance of every second he or she spends.
Before coming up with his big business plan, Karan has been involved with the number of companies as a freelancer for 7+ years. At G2One Network, Karan primarily focuses on business development and marketing, while also overseeing the strategic development and general management of the company.

Prior to founding G2One Network, in the August 2009 and mid-November 2010, Karan was a student at University of Mumbai, India and Aston University, UK where he obtained a bachelor in computer engineering and a postgraduate in Distributed and Network Computing.

Starting his entrepreneurial journey is always his dream and he had made it to the initial level. In his capacity as an entrepreneur, Karan is always looking out more new ideas as well as exploring new opportunities not just only for national level but also for international level.

Currently working in the capacity of:
• Founder & CEO, G2One Network (An Internet Media Company)
• Editor/Writer, I2Mag: Internet & Design Inspiration Magazine
• Editor/Writer, JustWP.org

Where did the idea for G2One Network come from?

While completing my post graduation, I wondered that what will be the one such company which offers both services as well as will work as a source of huge information and this is where I first think of forming the company.

Although I only started the company when I come back to my home country India and following the first six months of initial research, I launched the company name G2One Network.

Initially, I started only as an internet media company but just in short span of time (five months time), I come up on my second agenda and launched I2Mag  (the blog which speaks about everything, ranging from tech, how-to guides, start-ups, travel, lifestyle and lots more) while in the third year of company existence I came up another blog name JustWP.org (the blog dedicated to WordPress).

What does your typical day look like?

Since I have majority of clients from foreign land plus I have to continuously working on bringing more valuable content to lite via my blogs, I don’t have any one fix time. Sometimes, I got a shift of 18 to 20 hours a day while sometimes I finish in just 10 hours, so it is a mixture of both.

How do you bring ideas to life?

The time when I started working on my big ideas – whether it’s just a service offering or blog building – I keep my focus on understanding different problems which are all around and which I can solve with the medium of my work. So, to bring life to my ideas, I did researched well, talk with people as well as experts in the field and then when I feel that now I got the best enough knowledge to start developing the idea, I did bring life to them while interestingly, development is an ongoing process and even today also with every single “more” knowledge gain, I keep on working on to improve my ideas.

What’s one trend that really excites you?

There are people all around or better there are cluster (or groups) of people all around, but what if they did not get the right information. This is what I am following since from the day one. I have seen companies which still lead to work upon experimenting different things, but the trend that excites me is to follow those companies which rely on those experiment results and then re-engineer their own set of system.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

Learning every new thing which I see, feel and believe. There are millions of things all around you in every friction of second, but what best is what you select for you and then what you learn from it followed by working towards to make yourself more productive.

What was the worst job you ever had and what did you learn from it?

I worked as a freelancer for the very first time when I was just 14 years old and at that time it will be more a fun thing then to get something to get me into business seriously. I sold the product to the client and got less than half of what (me and client) actually decided. But, since just in faith I handed over the project to the client, he never comes back to me to pay the remaining balance. The lesson I learnt at that time was even if you are doing a business worth $1 also and even if it’s just only for fun, first take your earnings. It is good to trust everyone but when it comes to money, it is better avoiding it.

If you were to start again, what would you do differently?

I will definitely like to work in the initial level more on how to deal with different people.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

Invest in the right things – time, money or people – as the investment made on right things today will definitely give you huge returns one day.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business? Please explain how.

Although I mentioned the thing in last question answer in points, but to expand it more correctly, I will do this via this answer.

Time – Time is the core of everything. If you lose the time which you got for today’s work, you will never ever able to get it back tomorrow. A good businessman is the one which knows the importance of every second he or she spends.

Money – You have to know very well and in advance that where every single penny you are spending in running and expanding your business. Business is not a fun game; it’s a serious thing from day one when you entered into in it as the money you spend in right manner will come back to you in the form of profit (which is what every for-profit business wants).

People – You are having a staff of 50 people for example, but if in that 50 people team, you got hardly just one or two good employees, just like the way you want, and then there will be no meaning for it. It is better to invest in right people – better have a team of 10 people but they all have to be real ROCKSTAR.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

The first client – it was a failure because I trusted him with my eyes close. I did the work honestly, submit it on time but at the end never get my pay from the client. But, thanks to this incident as this is only when I understand my own Entrepreneur 101 rule – Trust everyone but when it comes to earnings (money or pay), be clear in sharing your terms with your client.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

I am an information guy – a person who loves to get as much as information he can. Plus in my own experience and research, I have seen the way the information shared to people are not in correct manner, so if a person want to develop something, then work on something which will be called as an “informational” website.

Tell us something about you that very few people know?

I am very much boring (laughs). For me, my day starts and ends just only with work while my love for learning and exploring new things are so high that I believe this single life to is less for that.

What are your three favorite online tools, software or resources and what do you love about them?

• Amazon – for finding the best books for myself as if I am not sitting and working on my laptop, I prefer to read.
• IMDB – I love watching movies and for knowing about what’s in and what’s out this is the best source for that.
• Google – for instant information.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

“How I made $2,000,000 in the stock market?” by Nicholas Darvas

The book emphasizes both technical and fundamental criteria. It will take you to the real actual experiences the author made but in investing manner. I believe such books play an important role for new entrepreneurs in building their brain mapping towards business.

List three experts who have helped you as an entrepreneur who you think other entrepreneurs should follow. And why?

• Warren Buffet – An investment biggy who knows very well that where to put his money.
• Richard Branson – A man who knows what, when and why of everything in business.
• Donald Trump – A man who believes in thinking big for everything.
