Where did the idea for joining Trimark’s award winning team come from?

After living for years in South Florida, I was ready to move to Gainesville and purchase my home there. That also meant finding a new job. I looked for a place where I could utilize my skills and grow in knowledge as well. At Trimark, I truly enjoy helping UF students look for awesome apartments near campus.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

I’m constantly seeking the latest updates on every property owned by Trimark. There’s a long list of apartments so it allows us to give our residents plenty of options as to where to live. For example, some of our developments are modern and sleek like Savion Park, others are dreamy and picturesque like Tuscana and others are elegant and finely crafted like Solaria. I love marketing these jewels!

How do you bring ideas to life?

At Trimark, we work as a unit. I believe that ideas come to life when we collaborate with others towards a common goal.

What’s one trend that really excites you?

How-to videos! Anything that you ever wished to know about is a click away after searching “How to …”. It’s incredible that today people don’t have go to a traditional learning center to gain new skills.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

I believe that productivity starts with a positive mindset, therefore I begin every task knowing that a solution exists or can be created.

What was the worst most challenging job you ever had and what did you learn from it?

Handling a teleprompter on a LIVE newscast! It was not as easy as it appeared to be. I learned that even if anchors have scripts, they are also human and go off script, so be prepared for it. Life plays out this way too. 

If you were to start again, what would you do differently?

I truly believe that everything happens for us and not to us, therefore I would not take anything away from my journey. Our decision making is sharpened by those moments we tend to wish had turned out differently.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

Run. This is the best way to get a healthy flow of endorphins which help balance depleting heavy workloads. After replenishing the body with good nutrition and physical activity, then you can tackle work like a rhinoceros!

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business? Please explain how.

Genuine people interactions. It’s true that people remember not what you told them, but how you made them feel. So if you get a chance to assist or provide a solution to others, do. They will never forget it.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

Everyone fails, but what is important to remember is to not give up on yourself because of a disappointment. Keep working hard towards your dreams. Keep making a difference in people’s lives. Success is self-defined.

There are so many ideas, implementation is what sets them apart. Get with a business mentor who can advise and guide you on your specific industry.

I purchased a Spartan Race ticket. Nothing is better than a mud race to center the mind. I AM SPARTAN!

What software and web services do you use? What do you love about them?

Yelp.com! It’s all about reviews nowadays. We decide where we will be having dinner based on restaurant evaluations. So I leave great reviews when earned!

Rhinoceros Success: the Secret to Charging Full Speed Toward Every Opportunity by Scott Alexander is a light read, but full of profound and meaning content. Anyone starting a new venture should read it.
