A passionate entrepreneur, Parinita has had an amazing journey. After achieving the feat of Chartered Accountancy, she decided to grow her family business. She handled the administration, banking, finance, and business development part. But being in her nature, she still wanted to do something for her own identity. She collaborated with a Advisory firm, as a consultant Manager. She took up projects like Valuation of companies, project financing, Law compliance’s and SME business developments.

But then, life had something interesting written for her. She wanted to add value to the life of students somehow. She undertook certificate training for Soft skills. With this, came along Image consulting.
She launched her venture named Portraiture soon after.
Today, she has many clients for image consulting, personality development, brand building, communications and confidence building.

She is tied up with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and many Management institutes for trainings in Image building, grooming, soft skills, communication and Leadership development.
She believes that every one is unique, with special set of qualities and personalities. But, most of us lack in portraying the best of us in front of people.

Image building is working on your inner self and confidence, understanding your qualities and personality and then being able to portray that Inner self on the exterior to the world, and build a brand for yourself.
Parinita, as an Image Consultant and Communications coach, help you build that brand for you.

Where did the idea for Portraiture come from?

The Idea of Portraiture was a life changing one for me. I just happen to come across the concept of Image consulting, and whole idea just stuck with me. So I plunged into Image consulting and training.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

My days are not exactly same. Some days I start with early morning trainings of 7:45 am. And other days I have clients at office or go for Personal shopping with them, or take workshops or Lectures at colleges. In short, no two days are similar, which makes it more exciting.

How do you bring ideas to life?

I have a habit to pen down my thoughts a lot. So when I think I have a good Idea, I start analysing it from feasibility point of view. What will be the audience’s reaction, does it meet the wants and needs of the market and do I possess the required capacity to do it. Then I discuss the idea and these points with few people I confine in. Some feedbacks, and when I feel I am ready I roll it out.

What’s one trend that excites you?

The social media trend and the era of connecting to so many people from all around the world.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

The habit to write down every small idea that comes to my mind. Human brain is a machine of ideas, but as quickly they come, they disappear as well. So writing it down, helps me ponder it over again later. And trust me, many times, these random ideas are ones that work wonders.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Go out, explore, and take risks. Every risk is worth it.

Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.

Law of Attraction works. Your thoughts and words affects your results. Our thoughts are really powerful. If you, by all heart, ask for something, the universe does give you a way to get that.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

I go back to my basics and keep things simple. All your answers are simple, but we think that the best answers are always complex. Have your concepts and base clear, and the questions will be answered.
Even today, I keep my training and styling books handy and revisit them in some time to refresh my basics. And every time I open the book, I gain something amazing out of it.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?

Each work and each client is special for me. However small the work might be, I give all my efforts and attention to details. This has really helped me with learning with each client and also build healthy relations with each to get future references for work. No work is small. Remember. So whenever I attend to my clients, I make it a point to note down each step and my learnings. Also, the improvements I can make in my next one.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

During my initial days of training, there was a batch of 60 Chartered Accountants. The batch become uncontrollable by me. That day I learnt methods to have a firmer approach, tricks to handle such crowd. I remember calling my husband, also a trainer, and almost bursting into tears. He calmed me down and gave me ideas to engage the crowd. This also taught me to ask for help, people get you through tough situations.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

Look for the gaps. Try and find where your strength lies and find peoples want. That is where you will be best at delivering.
So if you are good at a subject, find a niche, try trainings and imparting that knowledge to people. People really look for experts.

What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?

I spend $100 (INR 6000) on a workshop that I held recently. A one of a kind, open style day with me. It had a great response and I am glad I spend that money which gave me good insights of market and expectations.

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive? How do you use it?

I am quite an orthodox person when it comes to maintaining my schedule – so a diary. But still, my mobile apps like WordPress, Social media sites and mail apps helps me being updated.
