What are you working on right now?
I’m working on enhancing my marketing presence and providing home inspection services for clients.
Where did the idea to get involved with Pillar To Post come from?
The idea to open my own Pillar To Post location came from my positive interactions with other Pillar To Post Home Inspectors.
What does your typical day look like?
I aim to keep a full schedule of local home inspections. Throughout the day, my time is spent performing inspections and producing electronic reports sharing the results of the inspection.
How do you bring ideas to life?
Whenever I have an idea for the business, I find that it’s best to test it on myself and or our regional director before trying the ideas on my clients. That way anything that needs to be worked out gets adjusted beforehand.
What’s one trend that really excites you?
Pillar To Post is constantly implementing new programs to better service our customers. Now that the housing market is starting to look up again, these services will continue to provide people with the information they need to make a confident decision about an emotional purchase.
What was the worst job you ever had and what did you learn from it?
I’ve learned something for all of my jobs. I would say that most recently, the worst home I have inspected was a project involving a fixer-upper home. About half an hour into the inspection, I learned the hard way that the house was infested with fleas. The inspection was over and so was my clothing. I now carry bug spray and extra clothing!
If you were to start again, what would you do differently?
I would have started out my company as a corporation as it is today.
As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?
Failing to have a good accountant from the beginning to show me how to file with the City Of Philadelphia. I never knew about filing a Net Profit tax form; my old tax accountant only thought we had to file the business privilege tax. I had my new tax advisor help me repair the issue.
What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?
When you’re not working, you should be marketing!

What are your three favorite online tools or resources and what do you love about them?
My web-based scheduling system because it keeps all of my inspectors up to date with the schedule. My web-based customer management system – I love this system, it keeps track of all of my clients and their information. Lastly, Google. I can find out anything about any house!
When was the last time you laughed out loud? What caused it?
That last time I laughed was at my little daughter’s jokes. Her jokes were about her Mommy!
Who is your hero?
My heroes include God, my mother and my father.
