What is your typical day, and how do you make it productive?
My day starts early, usually with a run or workout to clear my mind and get energized. I spend my mornings catching up on research or prepping for consultations, reviewing cases to ensure I understand each patient’s goals before we meet. During patient consultations, I make a point of really listening. It’s all about communication and trust. Each patient has a unique vision for their journey, and it’s my job to align with that. I wrap up my day by documenting notes on each case, refining plans, and preparing for the next day. Staying organized and sticking to a routine helps me stay productive while ensuring every patient receives the attention they deserve.
How do you bring ideas to life?
I begin by visualizing how a new idea might benefit a patient’s experience. Whether it’s a new technique or integrating a regenerative approach like PRP therapy, I examine the medical science behind it, then look into practical applications and outcomes. I discuss these ideas with colleagues, research thoroughly, and pilot them on a small scale if appropriate. Seeing these ideas work for patients, improving both their confidence and health, is incredibly rewarding and keeps me inspired to innovate.
What’s one trend that excites you?
The regenerative medicine trend in aesthetics excites me. Using the body’s natural healing processes to rejuvenate tissue opens up safer, more effective ways to address patient concerns. Treatments like PRP are revolutionizing gynecological aesthetics, offering results that feel natural while being minimally invasive. This trend aligns with my belief in patient-centered, less invasive care.
What is one habit that helps you be productive?
I make it a habit to consistently review my goals daily. Before I start my workday, I take a few minutes to assess what needs to be accomplished. This small habit keeps me on track and reminds me of the purpose behind each task, making everything more intentional.
What advice would you give your younger self?
I’d tell my younger self to trust the process and be patient with it. Medicine is a journey, and it’s easy to get caught up in the pursuit of achievements. But true progress comes from continuous learning, listening, and having genuine compassion for others. Embracing each step fully without rushing to the next would’ve saved me some stress.
Tell us something you believe almost nobody agrees with you on?
I believe that true innovation in medicine doesn’t always come from groundbreaking new procedures or technologies. Sometimes, the most transformative care happens when we focus on improving the basics, like patient comfort and clear communication. It’s a simple but often underestimated part of care that I think holds as much value as the latest technique.
What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?
Exercise. It sounds basic, but it’s essential. I prioritize it every day, and it’s had a huge impact on both my physical and mental well-being. Exercise clears my mind, reduces stress, and boosts my focus. I encourage everyone to find a routine that works for them—it’s the foundation for overall health and productivity.
When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?
When I’m feeling overwhelmed, I step away from my desk and work and do something active. A quick walk outside, some deep breathing, or just changing my environment helps me reset. After a short break, I return to my tasks with a fresh perspective and renewed focus.
What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business or advance in your career?
Patient-centered care has been my guiding strategy. When you genuinely prioritize patient needs, word-of-mouth referrals follow naturally. I take the time to understand each patient, explaining options and making sure they feel supported and informed. This approach has helped me build trust and grow my practice.
What is one failure in your career, how did you overcome it, and what lessons did you take away from it?
Early on, I attempted to introduce a new procedure (with informed consent of course) without fully researching its potential outcomes. A few patients weren’t as satisfied as I’d hoped. It taught me the importance of testing and researching thoroughly before implementing anything new. Now, I always pilot procedures on a small scale and get extensive feedback to ensure patient satisfaction.
What is one business idea you’re willing to give away to our readers?
A platform that offers consultations and wellness programs for women’s health in a virtual setting could be a game-changer. Many women don’t get the information or care they need simply due to accessibility issues. A resource like this would provide personalized guidance in the comfort of one’s own home.
What is one piece of software that helps you be productive? How do you use it?
Evernote is a huge help for me. I use it to organize my notes, track patient goals, and document ideas. It’s easy to sort by topics, so I can pull up relevant information quickly. Having everything centralized is a huge time-saver and keeps me focused on my work.
Do you have a favorite book or podcast you’ve gotten a ton of value from and why?
I’d say “The Power of Habit” by Charles Duhigg. This book explains how habits shape our lives and how we can adapt them to our advantage. It made me much more conscious of my daily routines and how small, intentional changes can have a big impact.
What’s a movie or series you recently enjoyed and why?
“The Queen’s Gambit” was a recent favorite. I enjoyed how it portrayed resilience and focus in such a captivating way. Watching the main character’s journey, from overcoming challenges to mastering her field, felt inspiring—it’s a story of determination, and I really resonate with that.
