What is your typical day, and how do you make it productive?
My day is built around direct, results-driven actions supporting growth for Magnetic Marketing. Mornings start with a hard look at metrics — campaign results, lead flow, conversions, and client feedback. I track these constantly to assess and adjust where needed. Then, I move straight into the ‘priority hierarchy’ — working exclusively on the top 5% of actions that drive 95% of outcomes.
Productivity, for me, is about creating momentum. Every day, I’m either developing new assets that attract leads, optimizing our lead-nurturing systems, or fine-tuning strategies to convert those leads into loyal clients. My afternoons are dedicated to scaling: building, refining, and automating systems so they work even when I’m not hands-on.
By focusing only on the work that makes a difference — no filler tasks, no busywork — I can ensure that every day is pushing results forward. That’s productivity: having the right systems in place, so my time is spent on decisions that matter, actions that convert, and assets that build reach and revenue.
How do you bring ideas to life?
I bring ideas to life by immediately translating them into actionable assets that can be tested and scaled. I start with a single question: Will this generate results? If yes, I move straight into design and execution.
Every idea is structured as a direct response asset, with a clear call-to-action, compelling proof, and targeted messaging that speaks to my audience’s real motivations. Then it’s out the door — fast. I measure performance immediately, making any necessary adjustments to ensure it hits the mark. This cycle of testing and refining is essential; I’m not just creating ideas, I’m building assets that are proven to convert and ready to scale.
Execution is the name of the game — and I don’t just bring ideas to life, I turn them into reliable, repeatable systems that deliver results.
What’s one trend that excites you?
The trend that’s making a big impact right now is the focus on qualified leads over high-volume traffic. For years, businesses have wasted money chasing clicks and views without conversions to show for it. Today, the real leaders are taking control by refining their strategies to attract fewer — but better — prospects.
In my work, that means creating targeted, direct response systems designed to bring in leads who are already motivated, not lukewarm. I’m talking about systems that draw in people with the budget, the authority, and the need to make a buying decision. This shift from a numbers game to a results game is what I’ve been advocating for years. With the right assets in place, business owners don’t need millions of followers; they need a few hundred of the right buyers. That’s where measurable results happen — and that’s what I focus on bringing to life every day.
What is one habit that helps you be productive?
My productivity comes down to one habit: aggressive prioritization. Every morning, I cut the fat — I identify the top three actions that will drive the highest revenue or client results that day and I ignore everything else. There’s no room for low-impact tasks in my schedule. I focus on actions that will move the needle, like refining our lead systems, crafting high-converting assets, or optimizing a campaign already in progress.
And I build everything into repeatable systems. If I have to do something more than once, it’s documented, streamlined, and automated. This approach means every day is structured for maximum impact — and that’s how I stay productive, profitable, and always moving forward.
What advice would you give your younger self?
I’d tell my younger self to focus on building assets and systems from day one. When you’re new, there’s a tendency to hustle for every sale or to chase down clients one by one. But here’s the reality: the real power in business is creating systems that bring in qualified leads and convert them, predictably and reliably, whether you’re working or not.
I’d say, ‘Stop trading time for money and start building processes that make you money in your sleep.’ Focus on building up evergreen assets — valuable content, lead magnets, and sales processes that scale. Every minute spent building those is a minute that pays off long-term. It’s about choosing strategic moves over reactive actions. Once you’ve built a foundation of repeatable, profitable systems, then you can focus on scaling, optimizing, and driving the next phase of growth.
And lastly, I’d tell myself that the only approval you need is in the results. Don’t waste time worrying about what others think or trying to follow the crowd. Success is about implementing what works, measuring it, and adjusting to get the results you’re after. Every. Single. Day.
Tell us something you believe almost nobody agrees with you.
I believe that chasing likeability is one of the biggest mistakes a business can make. I’m not here to create brands that people ‘like’ — I’m here to build brands that people respect, trust, and act on. The brands that win don’t dilute their message to please everyone; they make an impact by being unapologetically clear on their value and making it impossible for their ideal customers to say no.
For me, it’s simple: the goal isn’t popularity; it’s profitability. While most businesses are busy crafting feel-good campaigns, I’m focused on creating direct-response systems that push people to make a decision. My clients don’t need a ‘like’; they need action and commitment. That’s where results come from, and that’s the only focus that matters.
What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?
I make it a point to systemize every process that drives results — and I recommend everyone do the same. Once you know what works, turn it into a documented, repeatable system that scales without you. Every profitable strategy, every lead-generation tactic, every conversion process — it all becomes an asset that can run automatically or with minimal oversight.
This approach isn’t about adding more to your plate; it’s about doubling down on what consistently brings revenue and building a machine that does it over and over. Chasing new tactics is a waste if you haven’t made the most out of what’s already working. When you turn proven actions into systems, you’re setting yourself up for predictable, scalable profitability. That’s where true leverage lies.
When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?
When I feel overwhelmed or unfocused, I immediately step back and strip everything down to priorities. I ask one question: What are the top one or two actions that will directly drive results? This clarity cuts through the noise fast.
I’ll block out everything else, turn off notifications, and eliminate distractions. Then I focus exclusively on those high-impact tasks until they’re done. This approach keeps me from getting lost in busy work or endless to-do lists, and it puts me right back on track to move the needle. Overwhelm happens when we let low-value tasks clutter our focus; eliminating those clears the path to productivity and results.
What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business or advance in your career?
One strategy that’s driven the most growth in my business is building evergreen, direct-response marketing systems. Rather than chasing new clients one by one, I’ve created systems that attract, qualify, and convert leads automatically. These aren’t one-off campaigns — they’re assets that work around the clock to bring in the right prospects and guide them through a proven, conversion-focused process.
This strategy lets me scale without burning out or wasting time on manual outreach. With the right assets in place — high-converting lead magnets, targeted messaging, and automated follow-up sequences — my business generates consistent, predictable revenue without constant intervention.
Creating these systems has been transformative because it’s not about working harder; it’s about working smarter. Every asset I build is designed to produce results over the long term, and that compounding effect is what drives sustainable, profitable growth.
What is one failure in your career, how did you overcome it, and what lessons did you take away from it?
One failure in my career was early on, when I focused too heavily on short-term tactics instead of building long-term systems. I was constantly launching new campaigns and chasing quick wins, but I wasn’t creating sustainable assets. The result? An unpredictable business model that demanded constant attention and wore me out.
To turn things around, I shifted my focus to building evergreen marketing systems designed to drive results over the long haul. I automated lead generation, streamlined my messaging, and created high-value, direct-response assets that work without constant oversight. This approach not only stabilized my business but also allowed me to scale in a way that wasn’t possible before.
The lesson? Chasing quick wins might give you a temporary boost, but if you want consistent growth, build assets that generate results repeatedly. Don’t waste time reinventing the wheel; focus on creating systems that compound over time. That’s where real, lasting success comes from.
What is one business idea you’re willing to give away to our readers?
One business idea I’d give away is a product called ‘Marketing Lab in a Box’ — a subscription box service that equips business owners to be their own best marketers. Every month, subscribers would receive a box focused on a specific, high-impact marketing skill or campaign. Think of it as a toolkit and crash course rolled into one.
Each box would cover a tactical marketing topic, like crafting high-converting offers, email sequences that sell, or setting up a simple but effective lead funnel. Inside, there’d be step-by-step guides, plug-and-play templates, worksheets, and even physical items like flashcards or quick-reference guides for key marketing principles. Subscribers could work through each topic at their own pace, mastering one area at a time, with a library of skills that build month over month.
What makes it unique is the emphasis on direct-response techniques — the goal is for business owners to be in complete control of their own marketing without relying on outside agencies. The subscription model could offer options for different business sizes or skill levels, and each box would focus on immediate application, so owners see results quickly. By the end of a year, a business owner would have both the tools and the know-how to consistently attract, convert, and retain clients.
What is one piece of software that helps you be productive? How do you use it?
One piece of software that keeps us productive is ClickFunnels. At Magnetic Marketing, we use it to build and optimize every lead-generation funnel, landing page, and sales sequence in our system. With ClickFunnels, we create high-converting pages that guide prospects through a direct-response journey from awareness to action — no need for a designer or developer.

We constantly test and refine these funnels based on performance data within ClickFunnels, making adjustments in real time to improve results. The platform’s drag-and-drop builder allows us to quickly update headlines, call-to-action, and the funnel steps themselves.

What is the best $100 you recently spent?
The best $100 I recently spent was on custom Magnetic Marketing newborn onesies for one of our high-level coaching members who’s about to welcome twins. For me, it’s more than just a thoughtful gift — it’s about building genuine, lasting relationships with our members, clients, and subscribers. They’re not just names in a database; they’re part of a community that we’re deeply invested in.
These small, personal touches go a long way because they show that we care about their lives, not just their business with us. That $100 is a small investment in a relationship that, in my view, holds far greater value than any single transaction. It’s one of the many ways we let our clients know we’re here for them in every way that counts.
Do you have a favorite book or podcast from which you’ve received much value?
My favorite go-to resources are Dan Kennedy’s Magnetic Marketing podcast and the book The NO B.S. Direct Marketing for Non-Direct Marketing Businesses, which I co-authored. Both are absolute powerhouses when it comes to practical, results-driven marketing strategies that work in any industry.
The Magnetic Marketing podcast delivers valuable, no-fluff insights that keep me sharp and inspired. Dan doesn’t hold back — he goes straight to the strategies and tactics that move the needle, and I find there’s always a takeaway that I can immediately apply to my own business or my clients’ strategies. It’s a must-listen for anyone serious about cutting through the noise and driving real results.
As for the NO B.S. Direct Marketing book, it’s the ultimate guide for businesses that don’t see themselves as traditional direct marketers but need to understand how to make marketing accountable and profitable. We crafted this book with the goal of breaking down high-impact direct-response strategies and showing business owners how to integrate them seamlessly. It’s full of proven techniques that I’ve used myself, and it’s helped countless businesses realize they don’t need a massive budget to get meaningful returns. It’s about results, plain and simple.
What’s a movie or series you recently enjoyed and why?
A series I recently enjoyed is Emily in Paris. Beyond the drama, it’s a brilliant reminder of what creative, adaptable marketing can achieve. Emily enters a completely new market, challenges outdated thinking, and pushes boundaries to capture attention — all things that matter in any business.
Watching her throw out the rulebook and make bold moves shows the power of knowing your audience and not being afraid to disrupt. It’s a perfect example of how fresh, direct ideas cut through the noise and make an impact. Emily in Paris may look like a light watch, but it’s packed with lessons on how fearless, audience-focused marketing drives results.
Key learnings:
- Prioritize meaningful relationships. Real, lasting business growth comes from treating clients, members, and subscribers as valued partners. Invest in thoughtful, personal touches to build loyalty and trust.
- Turn what works into systems. Stop wasting time on one-off tactics and start creating repeatable systems for high-impact actions that drive revenue and results.
- Focus on action over likeability. Effective marketing isn’t about being liked; it’s about getting the right people to act. Build direct-response systems that compel action from serious prospects.
- Relentlessly pursue actionable insights. Only consume resources that add value and can be implemented immediately — from marketing books to podcasts — and cut out the noise.
- Let data drive decisions. Trust only what proves profitable. Make decisions based on results, refine constantly, and scale what works to achieve sustained, measurable growth.
