Jeff Rosenblum

Jeff Rosenblum is an experienced legal and human resources professional with over two decades of service across different federal agencies including the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Throughout his career, Jeff Rosenblum has held four executive-level positions, building a reputation for strategic leadership and a commitment to public service.

From 2021 and 2025, he was the chief human capital officer at the FDIC. In this role, he was in charge of all agency human resources operations such as classification, pay, employment issues and investigations, benefits, and labor. He also implemented an equity review and pay adjustment program for existing employees within the organization.

Before joining the FDIC in 2018, Jeff Rosenblum worked as deputy general counsel with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. There, he managed a team of over 50 professionals and provided strategic oversight for litigation and policy development in areas such as privacy, procurement, labor law, and ethics.

What is your typical day, and how do you make it productive?

There is no typical day – one of the great parts about serving in high-level positions is that each day is different. It is important to prioritize tasks and projects to make the day productive, though the best-laid plans often get derailed by emerging issues.

How do you bring ideas to life?

In order to be successful as a leader, you have to use your greatest resource – the people you work with. So, I collaborate with the experts in their respective fields to collaborate to bring ideas to life.

What’s one trend that excites you?

I’m excited about the increased use of all different types of metrics to make informed decisions.

What is one habit that helps you be productive?

Meditation.

What advice would you give your younger self?

It all goes by very quickly – enjoy the journey and act in a way that is going to make you proud later on.

Tell us something you believe almost nobody agrees with you on?

They should bring manual transmissions back to more cars.

What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?

Find your outlet and use it – mine is tennis.

When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?

Take a break from whatever I’m doing and walk for 15 minutes outside.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business or advance in your career?

Invest in yourself like you would in finances – diversify. Keep learning new things and new areas.

What is one failure in your career,  how did you overcome it, and what lessons did you take away from it?

Lessons learned – you can’t change the past, but you also shouldn’t pretend it didn’t happen. Learn what you need to from your mistakes and then move on from them.

Do you have a favorite book or podcast you’ve gotten a ton of value from and why?

Any book written by Michael Lewis.

What’s a movie or series you recently enjoyed and why?

About Time. It’s a great father-son story disguised as a romantic comedy.
