Aaron Youssefi is a public adjuster for California Recovery Group – a public adjusting firm focused on helping homeowners navigate the legal landscape. Where did the idea for your career come from?

I have lived in California my entire life so I wanted to help all Californians. Therefore we came up with the name California Recovery group Inc. We essentially wanted something simple that customers could easily remember.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

I wake up at 6 am. I meditate for about thirty minutes and then start my morning routine which includes an hour of exercise. I have my breakfast and make my way to the office. My day mostly consists of meetings with department managers.

How do you bring ideas to life?

I bring ideas to life by writing them down. I find it helpful to put together lists throughout the day and then I prioritize my tasks accordingly. I also work with an exceptional team of individuals who I often seek for advice. I value open-communication so it is essential that I keep everyone at my company in the loop.

What’s one trend that excites you?

Competitive jogging on my NordicTrack excites me. I am a very active person and I enjoy physical activity. I will often set aside time to run every morning. As a fitness enthusiast I am always looking for new activities to try.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

I am an avid reader and I enjoy reading both for business and pleasure. I find in business that it is important to constantly be in the know, so I do my best to stay on top of all of the latest news and technologies as they relate to my sector.

What advice would you give your younger self?

It is very important to surround yourself with like minded individuals. I would tell my younger self to focus on cultivating positive relationships and surrounding myself with successful individuals. I would also tell myself to set smaller goals and to not be discouraged by various obstacles.

Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.

I believe we will have humans on mars within the next 15 year with the advancement entrepreneurs such as Elon Musk are making.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

My advice would be to adhere to a set morning routine. For me, it consists of some light reading and exercise. Physical activity helps me mentally and physically prepare for the day ahead. I find that I am at my best when my days are structured.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?

Having structured meetings with each department head throughout the week. For example Mondays I have meetings with each and every manager and on Wednesday’s I do conference calls. Department leaders will then have meetings with their team members

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

Getting distracted with other opportunities causes me to lose focus on my business. As a professional it is important that I remain focused on both my long and short-term goals.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

I would tell people to learn sales because it is a monumental asset and can be used in any business. To be more specific, sell a recurring product such as alarms, insurance or pest control that can turn into passive income overtime.

What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?

The best $100 I recently spent was at Barnes and Noble purchasing books which included Elon Musk’s biography.

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive?

I would have to say my Google calendar as it incorporates all my daily meetings and tasks.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino, part 1 and 2. It is the best self improvement book I have ever read.

What is your favorite quote?

Sometimes later becomes never. Do it now.
