Where did the idea for your company come from?

The new trend is breaking-out nationwide. Imagine being able to reach a doctor any time you want at home or work. Someone who knows you, your entire medical history; responds to your emails, texts, and phone calls 24/7; and gives you same-day appointments when you’re not feeling well. And all for a flat fee.

Any patient would be attracted to the convenience and personal care a concierge physician has to offer. No more booking appointments months out, time with your doctor is just that — time with your doctor who know you — knows your medical history — private time.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

My day consist of seeing about 6-10 patients daily. Ensuring their overall well-being and quality of life – My patients time is my time..

How do you bring ideas to life?

Everyday is a new day. Different and fulfilling. My ideas come to life at the suggestion of my patients and the doctors in my network. That the beauty of this business — nothing is set in stone. I’m open to all ideas and if it sounds good and helps the patient I implement the ideas.

What’s one trend that excites you?

Every patients health is valuable. Getting the best care from a physician you comfortable with is worth every penny according to my patients. The idea of a “boutique” concierge medical practice, which cater to patients willing to pay for access to top-tier doctors… excites me.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

I am a medical professional that loves what i do. I believe in the vision and am excited about the vision. You have to believe in and love what you do.

What advice would you give your younger self?

I am my younger self. I would tell my self to give my launch my all and to believe in what I am doing. Anything is possible.

Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.

The numbers of patients that are looking for concierge medical care are outstanding. According to market watch: While the number of concierge doctors remains small, it’s growing at a rapid clip. In the U.S., there were about 4,400 private physicians in 2012, a 25% increase from 2011, according to the American Academy of Private Physicians. That’s out of some 600,000 practicing doctors nationwide. At an average of roughly 350 patients per concierge doctor, that means more than 1.5 million Americans are under the care of a physician who provides an additional level of service in exchange for a fee.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

People are my business. The doctors in my network and the patients we treat. I recommend that when starting a business always treat everyone with respect and address their needs respectfully and professionally. Building meaningful relationships with customers and other people in the realm of my profession. Even my competitors are now potential partners and collaborators that can positively impact my business in a big way.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?

Launch before I was ready. Waiting was never an option. The idea of boutique” concierge medical practice just felt perfect.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

The process is definitely a learning process. We live in a digital era so reaching the masses requires getting the word out there. Socially networking. I’m a doctor not an SEO. But now with my initial launch and mistakes along the way I am getting better at building online relationships and business partnerships.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

I would like to start a business that addresses childhood obesity and education families and kids alike about a healthy lifestyle. I think that many parent who are busy think its okay to just fast food it at the expense of their children’s health. I would love to create an app that addresses teen obesity.

What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?

I spent $100 at a casino and won 3k. That was fun.

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive?

Hootsuite of course. A complete set of social media management and analytics tools fit into a tidy, attractive user interface. Affordable. Powerful monitoring. Efficient identification of influencers. Lots of integrations.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

Finding My Virginity: The New Autobiography: Richard Branson. What better book to read but one written by a giant like Richard Branson. Richard Branson’s Losing My Virginity shares the outrageous tale of how he built Virgin from a student magazine into one of the greatest brands in history. No challenge was too daunting, no opportunity too outlandish to pursue. And each new adventure started with five simple words: “Screw it, let’s do it.”
