What is your typical day, and how do you make it productive?

A typical day starts early with reviewing key performance indicators, such as patient satisfaction and program success rates. The morning is filled with meetings with team members to align on goals, while the afternoons are often dedicated to innovation, staff training, and public outreach. I focus on high-priority tasks first, ensuring the most impactful work gets done. I also make sure to carve out time for strategic planning and reflection to maintain focus on long-term objectives. This balance ensures productivity while staying aligned with our clinic’s mission.

How do you bring ideas to life?

I start by gathering information and feedback from my team, patients, and industry experts. From there, I outline a clear vision and set achievable goals. Implementation is driven by collaboration; I rely on my team’s expertise to refine and execute ideas. Monitoring progress and adapting as needed are critical. A key factor in bringing ideas to life is staying open to feedback and ensuring that every team member is aligned with the vision. By fostering a culture of innovation, we continuously improve and expand our offerings.

What’s one trend that excites you?

The rise of GLP-1 medications in weight management excites me the most. These treatments are transforming how we approach obesity and provide long-term, sustainable solutions for patients. GLP-1 medications offer a new frontier in weight loss, providing proven, science-backed results for individuals who previously struggled with traditional methods. This breakthrough is allowing us to address obesity as a chronic condition, not just a temporary issue. The potential to reshape the landscape of weight loss and overall health is something I find incredibly motivating.

What is one habit that helps you be productive?

I prioritize my morning routine. Starting my day with physical exercise, such as a run or workout, helps me feel energized and focused. This habit not only boosts my physical health but also sharpens my mental clarity for the day ahead. Exercising in the morning sets a positive tone and helps me manage stress throughout the day. Additionally, I make sure to schedule blocks of uninterrupted time for deep work, which enables me to stay productive and maintain focus on high-impact tasks.

What advice would you give your younger self?

I would tell my younger self to take more calculated risks and not be afraid of failure. Early in my career, I was hesitant to take chances, fearing failure would set me back. But I’ve learned that failure is not a setback – it’s an opportunity for growth. Embrace challenges, take risks when the potential rewards align with your values, and learn from every experience. Persistence is key, and every decision, whether successful or not, shapes you into a better leader.

Tell us something you believe that almost nobody agrees with you on?

I believe that weight loss should be approached as a long-term health journey, not a quick fix. Many people want instant results, but true, sustainable weight loss requires time, effort, and a holistic mindset. Most of the industry focuses on short-term solutions, but the reality is that addressing the underlying causes of obesity, including emotional and behavioral factors, is essential for lasting success. This approach may be unconventional, but it’s what leads to better health outcomes.

What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?

I consistently prioritize self-care, particularly regular exercise and mindful relaxation. Staying physically active and taking time to recharge mentally allows me to remain focused and energized. I recommend that everyone find a balance that works for them – whether it’s exercise, meditation, or time with loved ones – because personal well-being is the foundation of professional success. Without maintaining your health, it’s difficult to show up fully for others.

When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?

When I feel overwhelmed, I step back and take a few moments to breathe and reflect. Sometimes, I’ll go for a short walk to clear my mind. I also find that breaking tasks down into smaller, more manageable steps helps reduce stress. Prioritizing the most important tasks and delegating the rest allows me to regain focus. Talking to a trusted colleague or team member can also offer new perspectives and help me realign with the bigger picture.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business or advance in your career?

One key strategy has been focusing on building strong, long-term relationships with both patients and industry partners. By providing consistent, high-quality care and fostering transparency, we’ve earned the trust of our patients. Additionally, partnerships with FDA-approved compounding pharmacies have enabled us to offer top-tier, safe treatments. This focus on ethical practices and patient education has allowed us to build credibility, expand our reach, and scale the business while staying true to our core values.

What is one failure in your career,  how did you overcome it, and what lessons did you take away from it?

Early in my career, I took on too many projects at once, and as a result, some of them didn’t receive the attention they needed. It was a wake-up call for me to learn how to delegate effectively and prioritize tasks that truly align with our mission. The lesson I learned was that focusing on what matters most and trusting my team to handle other responsibilities is key to growth. I’ve since honed my ability to lead and manage more efficiently, knowing that I can’t do everything myself.

What is one business idea you’re willing to give away to our readers?

I believe there’s a huge opportunity in developing educational platforms that focus on sustainable, evidence-based weight loss solutions. There’s a need for accessible resources that provide people with accurate information about nutrition, exercise, and mental health in the context of weight management. By partnering with healthcare professionals and using technology to deliver personalized content, you can create a valuable platform that helps people take control of their health in a responsible, informed way.

What is one piece of software that helps you be productive? How do you use it?

I rely heavily on project management tools like Asana to keep track of tasks, deadlines, and team responsibilities. It allows me to stay organized and focused on both short-term and long-term goals. By using it to delegate tasks, track progress, and maintain visibility on key projects, I ensure everything is moving forward efficiently. It also helps my team stay aligned and reduces communication bottlenecks, ultimately boosting productivity across the clinic.

Do you have a favorite book or podcast you’ve gotten a ton of value from and why?

One book that had a huge impact on me is Good to Great by Jim Collins. It provided valuable insights on how to build a strong, lasting organization. The principles of disciplined thought and action have guided me in shaping the clinic’s strategy and leadership practices. I also listen to podcasts focused on leadership and health innovation, as they keep me inspired and provide actionable ideas for growing the business and improving patient care.

What’s a movie or series you recently enjoyed and why?

I recently enjoyed The Social Dilemma. It was a thought-provoking film that explores the influence of social media on society, particularly its impact on mental health. As a leader in the healthcare space, I found it particularly relevant, as the way information is shared online has a direct effect on public health decisions. The film encouraged me to think about how we can combat misinformation in our own field and better educate the public about safe, evidence-based weight loss solutions.
