What is your typical day, and how do you make it productive?

I start my day early, reviewing key financial metrics, market trends, and any strategic initiatives requiring my focus. I structure my day around high-impact decisions, blocking out time for deep work, and ensuring my team has the clarity and resources they need to execute effectively. Productivity comes from ruthless prioritization, eliminating distractions, leveraging automation, and staying outcome-driven.

How do you bring ideas to life?

Execution is everything. I take ideas through a structured process—validating assumptions, quantifying impact, aligning stakeholders, and rapidly implementing pilot programs to test feasibility. Success is about iterating quickly and making data-driven adjustments.

What’s one trend that excites you?

The convergence of AI and financial strategy—real-time, predictive analytics will completely transform how CFOs make capital allocation decisions and manage risk.

What is one habit that helps you be productive?

Planning my day the night before. Walking into the day with a clear roadmap minimizes wasted time and decision fatigue.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Play the long game. Take more asymmetric risks early, build relationships strategically, and remember that discipline beats motivation every time.

Tell us something you believe almost nobody agrees with you on?

Being busy is not the same as being productive. High performers focus on impact, not effort.

What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?

Regularly step back to reassess priorities—what got you here won’t necessarily get you to the next level.

When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?

I take a step back, refocus on my core priorities, and break down challenges into manageable next steps. Often, a short workout or a quiet walk provides the mental clarity needed to reset.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business or advance in your career?

Leveraging data to tell compelling financial stories. Numbers alone don’t drive decisions—framing them within the right strategic narrative does.

What is one failure in your career,  how did you overcome it, and what lessons did you take away from it?

Early in my career, I hesitated to make a tough personnel decision, and it cost the company valuable time and resources. I learned that decisive leadership—especially when it comes to people—is essential for long-term success.

What is one business idea you’re willing to give away to our readers?

A CFO dashboard that integrates real-time cash flow analytics, capital market insights, and scenario planning—bridging the gap between finance and strategy for mid-market companies.

What is one piece of software that helps you be productive? How do you use it?

Ramp for real-time expense management—its automation and insights make financial oversight dramatically more efficient.

Do you have a favorite book or podcast you’ve gotten a ton of value from and why?

The Outsiders by William Thorndike—it’s a masterclass on unconventional leadership and capital allocation.

What’s a movie or series you recently enjoyed and why?

Oppenheimer—a powerful exploration of leadership, innovation, and the weight of high-stakes decision-making.
