What is your typical day, and how do you make it productive?

My typical day is a work weekday in which I basically spend helping clients with their insurance claims and helping and motivating my employees. At the end of each day, I am lucky enough to be able to spend time with my family, including my new grandson.

How do you bring ideas to life?

Through research, planning, seeking advice, and testing.

What’s one trend that excites you?

It may not be classified as a “trend,” but I get excited when I help others successfully get out of debt and deal with collection agencies.

What is one habit that helps you be productive?

Using a to-do list.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Learn from your mistakes but don’t dwell on them, learn to be more forgiving and flexible, become more strategic about the future while living in and enjoying the present. Also, continue to help others and volunteer. You will receive much more than you give!

Tell us something you believe almost nobody agrees with you on?

There is alien life on other planets.

What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?

Appreciating my family and enjoying my time with them.

When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?

I momentarily step away to change my environment, and I try to meditate.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business or advance in your career?

Keeping the end in mind and strategizing on what is needed to achieve that end goal.

What is one failure in your career,  how did you overcome it, and what lessons did you take away from it?

I erroneously promised a client payment for something I did not have authority to make for something the client was not entitled to. We had to pay the client because of the promise. I learned to do more research and to be more thorough before making promises.

What is one piece of software that helps you be productive? How do you use it?

Task, a task app I use as a to-do list.

Do you have a favorite book or podcast you’ve gotten a ton of value from and why?

The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey, and The Ramsey Show podcast. Both helped me personally get out of a lot of consumer debt.
