The facility offers diverse as well as revolutionary treatment options to a range of sexual health issues including but not limited to hormonal imbalance, incontinence, menopause, vaginal dryness, and pelvic pain. Berman’s treatment strategy primarily involves non-surgical procedures that utilize radiofrequency – comfortable and requiring no downtime. Among these more advanced offerings of the Berman Women’s Wellness Center are BioTE (Hormone Replacement) pellet therapy for menopause; Emsella for incontinence; and Votiva, a vaginal rejuvenation procedure.
Aside from addressing sexual health and urologic issues, Berman also provides quasi-aesthetic medical solutions to women’s – and recently, men’s – wellness concerns using the latest body contouring and skin tightening technologies: Contoura, EMSculpt, EMSculpt Neo, Evolve, and Cellutone – all non-invasive, radiofrequency-based, and quick.

Where did the idea for your career come from?

I knew that there was a dire need to talk about women’s sexual health topics, but I was also aware of the fact that it was a taboo topic and not everyone is ready for that. But, I did it anyway. In my years of specialization and practice, I realized how important it is to talk about sexual health, and I enjoyed and appreciated not only talking about it, but also seeing women get comfortable in raising their concerns about their sexual health.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

I love walking. So I usually walk in my neighborhood, then grab my smoothie, and check my schedule. I always make sure I check and follow my schedule, because missing important events is not a fun experience at all.
At work, with the current set-up due to the pandemic, almost everyone is on their gadgets every single day. So, there is usually the virtual consultation which I think is very convenient during these days. Also, I am quite active on my social media accounts especially on my Instagram page where I usually post the services that I offer, and also showcase some client result feedback. Not only do I help them embrace their sexualities, but I also love the fact that awareness is actually powerful. I basically just love what I do, and when you love what you do, it is productive.

How do you bring ideas to life?

I just really have to keep up. I always look for new ways on how else I can extend help to my patients. We are in a very fast-paced generation today, and a lot has been changing. So, I always personally do extensive research and ensure that what I offer is something I can really vouch for.

What’s one trend that excites you?

Definitely the services that the generation today would be happy to pay for. Recently, I have just launched my HydraFacial treatment, and I am excited how my regular and new patients will love it!

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

Checking my schedule. I literally always check my schedule and always make sure that I don’t miss anything for the day. On top of that, I am a strong, determined, highly-motivated person who always looks for new things to live up to my promise of sexual health and wellness service. I also love listening to people, and sometimes with overflowing gratitude they’d tell me how thankful they are how I have helped them. Also, read more, do more, and be more.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Believe in what you know you are capable of. Do not compare yourself with others and don’t ever get swayed by those raised eyebrows and doubtful minds. And always remember that you are your only competition, and once you have proven that, the entire world will silently agree, then just go on with your life.

Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.

Well I guess just the fact that it is imperative to talk about sexual health is something that is actually true. Although I think on the part that nobody agrees on is somehow questionable before, but it is something that I have proven to be of great importance and I just love that.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

That taking care of yourself is productive. Sometimes, we tend to focus on our business that we lose sight of our true self and what else matters to us. Although of course it is arguably our calling to help people and we are dedicated and committed to that, but what I mean is it is okay to take breaks and breathe. Taking time for yourself is as important as taking time for your business; go on a walk, watch your favorite movie, listen to your favorite song, whatever makes you happy. Work-life balance is key.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?

Well, listening and accurately understanding the patients are two things I always make sure to not miss. In this profession, coming in with a preconceived judgement is not the best hat to wear, and it is unpleasant. When you interact with your patients, make sure you put value to what they share with you. And I guess that’s one of the reasons why my patients keep coming back, aside from the fact that I help them, it is not going to be possible if you miss doing those two things.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

I am not sure if I would want to consider setbacks and frustrations as failure; I would like to call them as learning phase, if that makes sense. Because I believe that we never get into difficult situations, we just learn from some uncontrollable situations. I just always remember that when one door closes, another one opens. If no door opens, look for the window, it might have been there open for a long while waiting for you to just look at it and shift your focus on it.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

Observe and think of something that would benefit a lot of people today and in the future. I guess wellness is one, since most of the people now work from home and barely have time to go out and exercise. One more thing may be venture of healthy living, like offering vegan food, supplying vegetables and fruits, those kinds of businesses I think would actually be great.

What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?

Well I have recently bought a bunch of bikinis with my daughter. We just couldn’t take our eyes off the mirror looking at our bodies perfectly shaped and toned, thanks to EMScuplt Neo. You can check my Instagram page, that’s @jenbermanmd, and check how wonderful it is!

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive?

Online presence doesn’t fail to throw some pressure at me, as everything is actually turning online now, at least needing counterparts online. I guess I would say Instagram. I use my account to showcase how effective and real the results from my clinics ad centers are, and from there I usually get a lot of DMs (direct messages) asking a range of questions from the rates to the actual effects.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

I would definitely say Start with Why by Simon Sinek. This is one of the books that inspired me to pursue what I love doing. It basically portrays the reasons behind why great leaders do what do— their “whys”.

What is your favorite quote?

“Only when diverse perspectives are included, respected, and valued can we start to get a full picture of the world.” From one of my favorite authors Brené Brown.

Key Learnings:

  • Work hard
  • Be patient
  • Never give up
