Where did the idea for your company come from?

My company and my organization are all formulated from the things that I love and am passionate about. My organization came about after myself and my mom both battled two different forms of Cancer at the same time and were both blessed to have them go into remission. I wanted to form and organization where I could help support other Cancer patients and survivors and as a former educator, coach and foster parent I wanted the organization to do a form of mentoring through sports & arts as well as provide support for those who may want to start a small business with my business and passion being entrepreneurialism. My company was started to take all the skills and knowledge that I have learned for Universities and life experiences and use them to provide others services based on that skillset and my passion for each and every area of service that I provide. I’ve always been a very friendly, positive and personable person and being a survivor of Cancer just help to give me an additional reason to share with people through motivational speaking my influence to inspire them to think positively in order to act positively which will result in a positive change in their lives. I am an overcomer of many adversities in my life and I want to share how the power of positive thinking and hard work can provide you with the things that you want in life.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

On my typical day I rise at 8am and I get to checking my emails to see if there is something that came in that needs my immediate attention. If I don’t have any appointments scheduled I immediately begin finishing up any work that I may not have completed the days prior to ensure I am meeting any deadlines with my client who have paid for services. Once I am done with that or find that I don’t have any left over work I immediately begin looking at ways that I can market my business, services and organization and I then take all those ways to market each individual thing generally by social media, emails and texts. Once that is done because a way for marketing my Brand is through my YouTube Channel I either set up to create a video for my personality channel and film that video and post it and share via all my social media outlets. Generally when I am doing this my phone is usually ringing off the hook with clients or friends who need or want my advice and I have to direct them to schedule a consultation with me because they often times think that the information and knowledge is not a consultation which is a service. I have a daughter that just graduated high school so my days for the past year have also included going to basketball games and doing that things that support her because through my organization we also have a girls basketball team and I am always scouting players or looking to just help them with my love for the game. Generally by 4pm I take a break for a few hours and then I am back at it around 8pm continuing on from what I started at the beginning of the day which is always promoting my services, my book, my organization, organization events, promotional items and my business. I usually stop and turn it in around 12a.

How do you bring ideas to life?

Ideas generally just pop into my head in a instant I can think of business names, marketing ideas, business ideas and I just get to going on them. If I think something I immediately begin researching what I need to do to get things started and I just do it. I generally don’t make any excuses for why I can’t bring any idea that I come up with to life.

What’s one trend that excites you?

YouTube, Facebook Watch & IGTV and the ability to reach and teach people without having to travel all over the world for every lesson or session. I like that videos can be filmed independently and people can pay for memberships to access that information at any time and I’m able to earn revenue even in my sleep.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

Believing that anything I desire I can achieve. It makes me more productive because I don’t make excuses for why I can’t and I only begin find reasons and solutions for how I can. I am very passionate about everything that I do and I am an expert in all areas that I provide my expertise, this being the case its very easy for me to sell myself, my services, my organization and any opportunities that I may have that can help grow wealth or positive thoughts for others.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Don’t waste time diminishing your value and abilities because you were around people who are not on your level or not driven in the way that you are because doing so can set you that much further behind because you don’t realize your true value and worth until later in life. If the room that you are in does not grow you leave that room and find a room with people that will in order to prevent stagnating your personal, professional and spiritual growth.

Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.

Forcing something that has been proven is not meant to be for you only makes you more unhappy as well as the people or situation that you are forcing to be right or make you happy.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

Change their thinking so that they can change their outcome.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?

Being led by my moral compass and not just earning money. It’s help me grow my business because of referrals of the people who realize I’m giving them the service and honesty that I would want for myself but is also a reason why persons try to devalue what I bring to the table because they see that I truly have a desire to help everyone who hires me or who I provide information and motivation through my speaking and workshops.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

Not scaling my business the way that I planned because I was not able to get those who needed to see the benefit of working for or investing in me how they would grow their finances by doing either one. I overcame it by continuing to push forward with my business doing what I been doing and continuing promote those options when I meet people who may be interested but growing my base by all of my marketing and networking that I can do independently or with the help of my assistant.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

Stop thinking that everything has to be perfect before you go for whatever that is that you may desire. If its starting a business, looking for a new job or even going to school it does not have to be perfect in order to move forward on it and waiting for it to be perfect could mean you never pursue or reach a goal that is attainable to you and that you deserve to reach. Nothing is perfect you can work toward perfection once you get things moving but waiting for what may not ever comes means never starting and in that case you probably on existing and not living.

What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?

The money I spent to get started with my tax preparation business on the software and initial supplies that I needed. I was the best because that small investment allowed me to get my first 25 clients that turned into 125 the following year and has continued to grow ever since.

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive?

All of my Mac software and programs help me because they allow me to do many things that I need for my business or to promote my business. I make spreadsheets, letters, invoices, proposals, promotional videos, movies and advertisements.
