What is your typical day, and how do you make it productive?
I start at my office at 8 am and usually finish around 4:30 to 5 pm. Afterwards, I head to the gym for an hour and a half and then have dinner. In order to be more productive, I focus on the most urgent matters and complete them first. I then work on issues that are not as important.
How do you bring ideas to life?
I discuss new ideas with someone on my team and then we develop practical steps on how to bring these to life and move them forward.
What’s one trend that excites you?
There is a great need for physicians and medical providers. This provides many opportunities for physicians and advanced practitioners to find rewarding careers in medicine.
What is one habit that helps you be productive?
Taking time to reflect and meditate. This helps to stay calm when things are really busy and chaotic and to keep focusing on the things that are really important, not on secondary issues.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Learn to enjoy living in the present moment, and don’t stress too much about the past or the future.
Tell us something you believe almost nobody agrees with you on?
Practicing and becoming better every day is more important than natural ability or talent.
What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?
Take time to rest and exercise. Taking care of your mind and body is one of the most important things you can do.
When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?
I take a little time to reflect, meditate, and reset my mind.
What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business or advance in your career?
When you make mistakes, learn from them and find out what you could have done better. Always learning and improving has helped me to have better relations with my clients and grow my business.
What is one failure in your career, how did you overcome it, and what lessons did you take away from it?
We lost an important client once, and that led to the development of new proposals that better clarified and highlighted the value we can bring to a hospital/clinic, which led to several new large clients, and it greatly expanded the business.
What is one piece of software that helps you be productive? How do you use it?
Loxo is an important tool that I use for managing clients and candidates.
Do you have a favorite book or podcast you’ve gotten a ton of value from and why?
I enjoyed the book Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins. It has some great lessons on embracing discomfort and taking full ownership of your life.
What’s a movie or series you recently enjoyed and why?
I really enjoyed the movie Gladiator. It has some great lessons on resilience, courage, leadership, and integrity.
