Where did the idea for Pete’s Moving Services come from?
I chose the name “Pete’s Moving Services” because I was handling everything on my own when I started the business.
What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?
My typical day is filled with many responsibilities, from managing teams and finances to consulting with clients and creating marketing strategies. I like to start my day early, around 6:30 AM, with a cup of coffee and some light stretching in order to wake up my body and clear my mind. Then, I take some time to review emails and prioritize tasks for the day. I also usually take one hour in the morning to do something that’s inspiring or educational. This could be anything from reading up on industry news, listening to a podcast, doing research, or simply getting lost in an interesting book.
After that, I typically spend the morning working on creative projects, such as designing marketing materials, social media content, and other promotions. I also check in with team members to make sure they have everything they need to complete their tasks, while also providing guidance when needed. To ensure that I’m always properly focused on the task at hand, I like to break down my list of activities into smaller tasks so that I can tackle them one by one without feeling overwhelmed. During this time, I set reminders on my phone to make sure to take a break so I stay refreshed and clear-headed instead of fatigued and unfocused after hours of hard work.
In the afternoon, I usually focus on administrative tasks such as accounting, budgeting and bookkeeping. Sometimes I handle client calls in the afternoon or meetings where we discuss project objectives, review recent developments, and plan for upcoming initiatives.
Before ending the day, I like to take an hour off for myself so that I can de-stress from all of my daily activities by reading books or watching movies which help me put things into perspective once again. At night before going to bed, I write down and organize my notes and thoughts in a journal so that I know nothing important is left out and exactly where to pick up from the next day.
Following this daily routine helps me stay productive while I manage various aspects of the business. It also helps prevent burning out quickly – something which would otherwise be impossible without proper planning and discipline!
How do you bring ideas to life?
I start by conducting thorough research on the idea I have to determine if it is feasible. Then, I devise a practical strategy based on the research I gathered that includes specific tasks that need to be completed to implement the idea from beginning to end. Once I’ve rounded out my strategy, I will take it to other people whose opinion I value and ask for advice and feedback.
As I said before, I keep a journal and write down my ideas for the business and projects I’m currently working on at the end of each day. At least once a week, I like to review my journal to see if any of the ideas I recently added or wrote down in the past might help me see where I can improve or tweak the strategy I plan to implement.
Once I have the project roadmap figured out and a detailed list of tasks and timelines, I meet with my team to present the idea, hear their first impressions, and then delegate who will be implementing specific aspects of the strategy to bring the idea to life.
What’s one trend that excites you?
I’m really excited about AI technology being incorporated into managing everyday business tasks. AI technology is a game-changing development for businesses across the globe. Its applications are endless, and its potential to revolutionize how businesses operate is immense. With AI, companies can automate mundane tasks that previously took up much of their employees’ valuable time and energy. This frees up resources to be used on more important areas of a business, allowing it to grow at a faster rate with improved efficiency.
What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?
Reading daily is the most productive habit I’ve adopted in my professional life. Reading in the morning and in the evening improves my analytical skills and keeps me aware of trends and developments in my industry. I’ve also found that reading daily reduces stress and anxiety because it allows me to escape from my distractions. Since I’ve made reading before bed a habit, I’ve noticed it’s much easier to relax and transition into a peaceful sleep. I’m also able to recall facts and information stored in my mind more easily, which is useful when I’m writing reports or researching topics related to the business.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t get too overwhelmed when things are not going your way. Every mistake in business is a lesson learned. When setbacks occur, it’s important to remain focused and persevere. It’s normal for business owners to make mistakes from time to time. As long as you take the necessary steps to correct any errors and learn from them, your business will be better prepared for the future. The key is to stay positive, motivated and resilient in the face of adversity. Problems are inevitable, but with a strong commitment and positive attitude, you can overcome any hurdle that comes your way. Remind yourself why you embarked on this journey in the first place and keep pushing forward until you succeed.
Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.
It is true that the most meaningful and fulfilling way to live life is by paying attention to your inner voice, trusting your intuition and instincts, and living with purpose. This concept may not be widely accepted or popular in society because it requires taking a risk by following an unmapped path and being willing to challenge the status quo.
As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?
Stay consistent in your daily habits. Consistency is a key factor for success as an entrepreneur because it helps you keep focus, establish goals, and stay organized. When you’re consistent in your daily habits and create effective routines, you’re more likely to reach your objectives.
What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?
Investing into SEO to help grow our online presence has been a game changer.
Improving our SEO strategy has helped to make us visible to target audiences in key markets we are expanding into. By optimizing the content on our website and social media accounts with popular keywords and phrases, we’ve been able to reach more customers because we are showing up on page one when people are searching using a wide variety of keywords.
Once our optimized content started appearing at the top of search engine results pages (SERPs), more potential customers started to click and visit our company’s website and social media accounts. This increased website traffic allowed us to gain new customers and convert more visitors into paying clients.
What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?
Creating an LLC for the business instead of INC. I would have saved more money on taxes over the years if I chose INC.
What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?
Get into a specific trade and work hard to master it. There are not enough tradesmen out there.

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive?
Customer relationship management (CRM) software is a must for businesses. I use the CRM system to easily access customer data from any device and to give my team real-time insight into customer interactions so we can quickly respond to inquiries.
What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?
I recommend 5 Levels of Leadership by John Maxwell. According to Maxwell, true leaders create an atmosphere where creativity is valued, risk-taking is safe, mistakes are seen as learning opportunities, and respect for individual differences is promoted. True leaders understand that success comes from collaboration and trust—not from barking orders or issuing ultimatums. This book taught me how to build a vision for my company and empower others to carry out that vision. Maxwell’s book also helped me focus on developing stronger communication skills and to do a better job of effectively delegating tasks.
