What is your typical day, and how do you make it productive?
Typical day at work involves court appearance and, afterward, preparing for the next cases that week. This involves research and writing and investigations into the cases.
How do you bring ideas to life?
I bring ideas to life by figuring out how to start and all the steps that are necessary to make the idea successful. This involves thinking about any potential obstacles and what the response to that would be.
What’s one trend that excites you?
People are becoming more into a balanced work-life balance, and I hope this continues so people learn to work to live instead of living to work. I hope and pray that people are able to afford a good, quality life and having a nice work-life balance.
What is one habit that helps you be productive?
Working out.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Slow and steady wins the race, as long as we are making progress to our goals.
What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?
To find good work-life balance, to make time for your mind and body and soul every single day.
When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?
Prayer and fasting and reading the Bible. I am Orthodox Christian, which is the ancient Christian faith, which has not changed at all since the time of Jesus. There is so much medicine and healing to be had by digging into the ancient faith, and it helps to have this a major part of my life.
What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business or advance in your career?
I set out this path to help the unfortunate, the falsely accused, the lost, and misguided find peace and healing and justice. By chasing this, I knew that things would always go well. But if I chased something else or more selfish, I knew that I would not be as satisfied. There is more to life than money, and if we focus on what is truly important, we will always be rich.
What is one failure in your career, how did you overcome it, and what lessons did you take away from it?
A long time ago, I had a hard time dealing with the practice of law and some personal things happening. I lost focus, and it caused me to slip up professionally. I grew from that experience by digging deeper into my faith and becoming more organized and able to deal with all types of adversity.
Do you have a favorite book or podcast you’ve gotten a ton of value from and why?
I highly recommend people listen to Patristic Nectar Publications. There is a free app, and there is so many incredible things on there for people to listen to.
What’s a movie or series you recently enjoyed and why?
I like The Last Kingdom because you see the struggle of Uhtred of Bebbanburg and his will to persevere despite what he faces.
Key learnings
- Always take care of your mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Daily maintenance is so essential to avoid big issues later.
- Strive to help others. If we pursue helping others, we will always be rich. If we pursue money, we will always be poor.
- Prioritize work-life balance and learn to work to live, rather than living to work.
