What is your typical day, and how do you make it productive?

My days are a mix of patient care, problem-solving, and leadership. I start early, reviewing my schedule and preparing for procedures. My mornings are often filled with seeing young patients, ensuring that each visit is a positive experience. I spend a lot of time educating parents about preventative care because I believe that’s where real, long-term impact happens.
Productivity comes from structure and purpose. I make sure every interaction—whether with a patient, a parent, or my team—adds value. I also schedule time for deep work, whether it’s researching new advancements in dentistry or brainstorming ways to improve our patient experience.

How do you bring ideas to life?

I test them. I don’t believe in just thinking about ideas—I believe in acting on them. Whether it’s integrating new technology, developing a product like my tooth-friendly sweet drink, or creating new ways to make dentistry fun for kids, I start by identifying the problem. Then, I explore possible solutions, refine them, and implement them on a small scale before expanding.
Most importantly, I listen to my patients and my team. If something doesn’t work, I adjust. Innovation is an ongoing process.

What’s one trend that excites you?

3D printing in dentistry is a game-changer. We now have the ability to create same-day crowns, custom aligners, and precision dental implants with incredible accuracy. This not only saves patients time but also improves the fit and longevity of dental restorations. The level of precision we can achieve with a 3D imaging system is beyond what was possible even a few years ago.

What is one habit that helps you be productive?

I prioritize what truly matters. I don’t get distracted by minor things. Every day, I ask myself: What is the most impactful thing I can do today? Then, I focus on that first.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Trust the process. Success takes time, and failures are just stepping stones. I’d tell myself to focus on growth and learning, rather than chasing immediate results.

Tell us something you believe almost nobody agrees with you on?

Baby teeth matter more than most people realize. Many parents think, “They’re just going to fall out,” but they are crucial for guiding permanent teeth into place and maintaining overall oral health. Ignoring them can lead to issues that follow a child into adulthood.

What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?

I always stay curious. Dentistry is constantly evolving, and I make it a habit to keep learning. I recommend that everyone—whether in healthcare, business, or any other field—commit to lifelong learning. It keeps you ahead and ensures you’re always improving.

When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?

I step away from work for a bit. Whether it’s taking a walk or spending time with my family, a mental reset helps me return with more clarity and energy.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business or advance in your career?

Patient-first thinking. Every decision I make is based on how it benefits my patients. If a new technology or service doesn’t improve their experience or health, I don’t adopt it. That philosophy has helped build trust and grow my practice.

What is one failure in your career,  how did you overcome it, and what lessons did you take away from it?

Early in my career, I tried to do everything myself. I quickly realized that delegating and trusting my team leads to better outcomes. I learned that leadership isn’t about control—it’s about empowering others.

What is one business idea you’re willing to give away to our readers?

A subscription-based dental care program for children. It could include regular checkups, cleanings, and preventive treatments for a fixed monthly fee. This would help parents budget for dental care while ensuring kids get regular preventive visits.

What is one piece of software that helps you be productive? How do you use it?

I rely on cloud-based dental practice management software to streamline scheduling, patient records, and treatment plans. It allows my team to work efficiently and keeps everything organized.

Do you have a favorite book or podcast you’ve gotten a ton of value from and why?

Atomic Habits by James Clear. It reinforced the idea that small, consistent improvements lead to big results over time. It applies to everything—business, health, and personal development.

What’s a movie or series you recently enjoyed and why?

I enjoyed Limitless. It’s all about human potential and pushing boundaries. While the storyline is exaggerated, the concept of expanding our abilities through discipline and focus resonates with me.
