What is your typical day, and how do you make it productive?

As an entrepreneur and founder of Safeway Moving, my typical day is quite busy and involves a lot of multitasking. I usually start my day early, checking emails, and responding to any urgent messages. Then, I review the schedule for the day and make sure that everything is running smoothly.

Throughout the day, I attend meetings with clients, employees, and other stakeholders, working on new strategies for growth and reviewing financial reports. I am also constantly looking for ways to improve our operations, whether it be by optimizing our fleet or streamlining our processes.

To ensure productivity, I prioritize my tasks based on their urgency and importance, delegating responsibilities to my team where necessary. I also make sure to take breaks and exercise regularly, as I believe that a healthy mind and body are essential to success. Lastly, I always make sure to end my day by reviewing my progress and preparing for the next day.

How do you bring ideas to life?

As an entrepreneur, I have a process for bringing ideas to life. It usually starts with identifying a problem or opportunity in the market and then brainstorming potential solutions or ways to take advantage of that opportunity.

Once I have an idea that I believe has potential, I then do my research and conduct a feasibility analysis to determine if it is practical. This includes looking at factors such as market demand, competition, potential costs, and potential revenue.

After I have determined that an idea is viable, I then develop a plan of action and create a team of individuals who can help me execute that plan. This involves setting specific goals, developing a timeline, and delegating tasks to team members who have the skills and expertise necessary to achieve those goals.

As someone in the moving industry, one trend that excites me is the increased use of technology to streamline the moving process. For example, we’re now seeing more customers use virtual surveys and video walkthroughs to get accurate moving quotes, which saves time and eliminates the need to visit the site.

What is one habit that helps you be productive?

One habit that helps me be productive is setting clear goals and prioritizing my tasks. I start each day by reviewing my to-do list and identifying the most important tasks that need to be accomplished. I then focus on completing those tasks before moving on to less urgent matters. This helps me stay focused and ensures that I make progress toward my goals every day. Additionally, I try to eliminate distractions as much as possible during my workday, such as turning off my phone or email notifications, to help maintain my productivity.

What advice would you give your younger self?

If I had the opportunity to advise my younger self, I would tell myself to take risks and not be afraid of failure. When you’re young, it’s easy to get caught up in the idea of having a stable and secure job, but sometimes taking calculated risks can lead to great rewards. It’s important to have confidence in your abilities and to trust your instincts.

Tell us something you believe that almost nobody agrees with you on?

One belief I have that not everyone may agree with is that failure is essential to success. Many people fear failure and view it as a negative outcome, but I believe that failure is an important part of the learning process and can ultimately lead to greater success. In fact, some of my biggest breakthroughs and successes have come after experiencing failure and learning from it. I encourage my team to embrace failure as a learning opportunity and to not be afraid to take risks in pursuit of their goals.

What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?

As an entrepreneur, one thing I repeatedly do and highly recommend others do is to always stay focused on their goals. It’s easy to get distracted by the day-to-day challenges of running a business, but it’s important to keep your eyes on the prize and stay motivated to achieve your long-term objectives. This requires a certain level of discipline and the ability to prioritize your time and efforts effectively.

I find that regularly reviewing my goals and breaking them down into actionable steps helps me to stay on track and make progress towards achieving them. Additionally, seeking out advice and guidance from experienced mentors and industry experts can also be incredibly valuable in staying focused and motivated.

When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?

It is natural to feel overwhelmed or unfocused. In such situations, I find it helpful to take a step back and take a break from work. This could mean going for a walk, exercising, or engaging in a hobby that helps me clear my mind.

I also find it helpful to prioritize my tasks and focus on the most important ones. This helps me avoid feeling overwhelmed by the sheer number of things I need to do. I usually make a to-do list and prioritize the items based on their urgency and importance.

What is one failure in your career,  how did you overcome it, and what lessons did you take away from it?

One failure in my career was when I tried to expand my business too quickly without proper planning and resources. I was eager to grow and wanted to take advantage of the opportunities that came my way, but I didn’t take into account the potential risks and challenges that came with rapid expansion.

As a result, I faced some financial difficulties and had to make some tough decisions to restructure the company and downsize. It was a difficult time, but I learned a valuable lesson about the importance of strategic planning, careful risk assessment, and building a solid foundation before taking big steps.

One area that I believe has tremendous potential for growth is the senior living industry. With the aging of the baby boomer generation, there is an increasing demand for products and services that cater to the needs of older adults. This could include everything from home healthcare services to specialized home modification services. I believe there are many untapped opportunities in this industry, and entrepreneurs who are passionate about helping older adults could potentially find success by creating innovative solutions to meet their needs.

What is one piece of software that helps you be productive? How do you use it?

Trello is a project management tool that allows users to organize and prioritize tasks in a visual format. I use Trello to manage multiple projects, delegate tasks to team members, and keep track of deadlines and priorities. Trello’s user-friendly interface and flexibility make it easy to use for anyone, even those with limited technical skills.

I recently enjoyed the TV series “Squid Game” on Netflix.
