What is your typical day, and how do you make it productive?
My typical day is a whirlwind of activity. I remain deeply immersed in the day-to-day operations of my company, juggling various responsibilities from making important calls to addressing client tickets and even engaging in face-to-face client interactions. While I am fortunate to have a dedicated and reliable team, my passion for marketing drives me to be intricately involved in every aspect of the business.
As for enhancing productivity, I admit that I don’t consider myself a naturally organized or efficient individual. There’s always room for improvement, and I often find myself thinking I could have accomplished more. My approach to task management can seem spontaneous—I jot down tasks on my to-do list as they come to mind. Once listed, I prioritize them based on their potential impact on revenue generation, whether directly or indirectly. This prioritization strategy allows me to hyper-focus on completing tasks with the utmost dedication.
I adhere to a consistent work schedule, diligently working from 9 to 5. I make it a point not to carry my work home with me. This separation is crucial because it allows me to cherish quality time with my family starting at 5 in the evening.
How do you bring ideas to life?
I have a profound passion for reading—a habit that continuously propels me to embrace new challenges and strive for mastery. The wealth of knowledge I’ve gathered from countless books fuels my ability to conceive, assess, and actualize innovative concepts. An intriguing paradox defines my approach: I steadfastly reject intimidation, recognizing that my strength lies in not possessing exhaustive knowledge. This unique perspective empowers me to craft remarkable creations unhindered by the illusion of omniscience.
Upon encountering a fresh task, my strategy is a multi-layered journey. I embark by delving into the depths of my personal library—a treasure trove of insights gathered over the years. Subsequently, I engage in discussions with individuals who possess practical insights relevant to the endeavor at hand. Their firsthand experience adds a valuable dimension to my understanding.
The culmination of this process involves tapping into the remarkable network of collaborators I’ve cultivated over time. These colleagues share my enthusiasm for turning audacious ideas into reality. Their remarkable effectiveness is matched by their willingness to invest time and energy. Eager learners, just like myself, bring their unique perspectives to the table. Amidst this synergy, there’s a palpable sense of enjoyment as we collaborate on novel undertakings.
What’s one trend that excites you?
The accelerating wave of global digitization fills me with an exhilarating sense of anticipation. In our technologically-driven era, an array of devices—DVRs, computers, Kindles, Apple storage solutions, and portable hard drives—stand as repositories for all that can be transformed into digital format. The compulsion to archive treasured possessions like old photographs, music, and videos has an oddly captivating allure. It’s as if we’re drawn to digitize and safeguard items we might never actually revisit, yet we’re driven by an innate need to possess them.
Looking beyond the present, the impact of this digitization journey is truly remarkable. The potential for disseminating information and facilitating global education in a swift and cost-effective manner is nothing short of astounding. The concept of accessing any desired information exactly when it’s needed is captivating. Given my involvement in the realm of digital marketing, the implications of digitization on the advertising landscape hold a profound fascination for me.
What is one habit that helps you be productive?
Complete Concentration. Whether I classify it as a practiced routine or attribute it to the unique functioning of my mind, I possess the ability to immerse myself entirely in a single task until its fulfillment is optimized.
My pace of operation is swift. While I acknowledge that many business leaders invest substantial time in refining a product prior to proceeding to the subsequent phase, my approach differs. Once a project exhibits signs of functionality and a modicum of enjoyment, I promptly introduce it to the market. Subsequently, I continue refining it while in motion.
The rapid introduction of novel ideas and features to the market has consistently stood out as one of my most noteworthy proficiencies throughout the years. This approach has effectively maintained our competitiveness in an increasingly populated arena.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Set appropriate prices and value your services fairly.
During the initial year of my business venture, I encountered substantial financial setbacks due to the inadequate pricing of my services. One prevalent error among newcomers is the inclination to offer services at lower rates than the competition. This often stems from the pursuit of economies of scale, a strategy that, in my view, proves disadvantageous.
Tell us something you believe that almost nobody agrees with you on?
Physical books are better than Kindles. While Kindles do save you money in the long run, the feeling of reading a physical book is just on another level.
What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?
I consistently interact with my clients and conduct sales calls to establish enduring connections.
Maintaining vigilance over the inquiries and needs of people is crucial, as overlooking this aspect results in a loss of the distinctive and exceptional qualities of my marketing agency.
Through responding to inquiries and actively involving myself with clients, I harness the influential principle of reciprocity. By contributing to the enhancement of my clients’ businesses, I, in turn, receive value from them. This reciprocation can manifest as referrals from new clients, increased revenue, an enriched portfolio, and more.
When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?
I practice Mindful Mediation to relax and refocus.
What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business or advance in your career?
Being in touch with the ever-changing world: Know what is happening around the world and the new interests of people. Be aware of upcoming trends. It helps in designing products since you know what your target audience likes.
What is one failure in your career, how did you overcome it, and what lessons did you take away from it?
In my initial foray into the business world, I misconstrued my assertiveness and a handful of promising ideas as indicators of business acumen. Regrettably, my actions were carried out in ignorance. My overconfidence led me to mishandle and, ultimately, fail to capitalize on some innovative concepts due to my lack of experience. However, a turning point emerged when I encountered a mentor – an individual who not only collaborated with my ideas but comprehended the nuances that had eluded me back then.
What is one business idea you’re willing to give away to our readers?
No good business idea comes to mind right now, but here’s a little tip: be nice. No matter who it is, be it a CEO or a janitor.
What is one piece of software that helps you be productive? How do you use it?
Google Spreadsheets is my go-to for organizing my work.
