Where did the idea for SEAS Community Partners come from?

SEAS came from the initials of my children (first, middle initial) transposed. Because they are dear to my heart. The logo was created with colors and a symbol of the “sea.” A place that I like to visit to bring calm, creativity, peace, and ideas.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

My day starts with prayer, scripture, and meditation. Once I’m at my desk, I begin to prepare my “to do” list and organize my day.

How do you bring ideas to life?

I bring ideas to life through my quiet time, exercising, or sewing. Once I think of an idea, I go into research mode to see how I can bring it to fruition.

What’s one trend that excites you?

One trend that excites me is health, wellness, and mindfulness. I get excited about trying plant-based recipes and making my old favorites into healthier recipes.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

Leaning on my top CliftonStrength – Achiever, I will sit, research, and implement an idea or project until it’s completed.

What advice would you give your younger self?

I would tell my younger self to pursue an advanced degree. An advanced degree carries so much more weight today than it did yesterday.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

I would recommend setting goals at the beginning of each year. I would also recommend the importance of networking and building relationships.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?

The one strategy that has helped my business grow is the value of building relationships. I work with like organizations, so I pursue those organizations and can have references and past performance.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

I would give a business idea for a personal chef on demand or within hours to cook healthy meals for the family.

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive?

I could not do without the MS Office suite of products. I have been using it for years and can accomplish just about everything I need to do from reports, excel spreadsheets, and presentations.
