Jake Hoffman is an established entrepreneur, writer, and leading member of an organization for young republicans. He is the co-founder of Invasion Digital Media, simultaneously working as Executive Director of Tampa Bay Young Republicans (TBYR). In addition, he is running for state office in Florida as part of his efforts to make Florida and the United States the greatest possible places.

Jake was born in Palm Beach, Florida but now lives in Tampa. He had to move there in 2009 to pursue a college education.

By the time he started living there, he attended the University of South Florida (USF) where he gained his two bachelor’s degrees – one in Communication and another in Political Science. In the following years, he decided to further his studies and took up a Master’s in Entrepreneurship at the same university.

At present, he leads Invasion Digital Media as CEO while being actively involved with Tampa Bay Young Republicans. With Invasion, Jake creates digital training courses for professional athletes. Aside from that, he helps improve the campaigns of young Republican politicians and hosts TBYR’s podcast called, “Moderately Outraged.”

Under his leadership, TBYR was awarded as the best Young Republicans club in 2020. In addition, Jake also worked as an advocate for Turning Point USA and assisted with a variety of political organizations’ initiatives.

He intends to get married to his fiancée, Michelle Sassouni, in May 2022. And as a community leader, he aspires to make a positive impact in his community and nation through his work and political engagement.

After witnessing businesses close and individuals lose their jobs due to the pandemic, Jake was compelled to seek public office in Florida.

Where did the idea for Invasion Digital Media come from?

I’ve always tried to make money over the internet since I was a youngster. When I was still in school, I started an online startup, and eventually, after dropping it, began collaborating with various Youtubers in the fitness industry. Then I went to several professional athletes and suggested that we develop their own digital fitness programs. This evolved into an automated digital media company.

When it comes to politics, I took an internship at our local Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners while studying political science in college. I really enjoyed it and wanted to stay involved in local politics so I joined the Tampa Bay Young Republicans organization and soon took over as President.

I grew the club into one of the top Young Republican clubs in the country. During this time, we also launched a weekly political podcast/online show called, “Moderately Outraged” with over fifty thousand views each episode.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

I usually wake up around 7 am, check my email, and see what I need to get done that day. I’ll then work on some business development for Invasion Digital Media or help out a candidate with their online presence.

Later in the day, I might meet with some people to discuss a potential business venture or podcast interview. And finally, I end the day by catching up on some reading or working out.

How do you bring ideas to life?

The key is to surround yourself with like-minded people and get things done in a collaborative environment. I’ve been very fortunate to have worked with some of the best people in the country when it comes to business, marketing, and politics.

Whenever I have an idea, I’ll usually bounce it off of them and see what they think. More often than not, we’ll then work together to come up with a plan and see it through to the end.

What’s one trend that excites you?

I’m really excited about blockchain technology and its potential applications for business and society as a whole. The possibilities are endless, especially in voting systems, ID verification, and other areas where counterfeiting is an issue.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

I would say that my ability to stay focused and work on a single task for extended periods of time is what helps me be productive as an entrepreneur. I’m also very selective with the tasks that I choose to work on and try to prioritize the most important ones. This allows me to stay efficient and not get bogged down by distractions.

What advice would you give your younger self?

I would tell myself to stay focused and continue to work hard. There will be times when things don’t go your way, but that’s okay. You’ll learn from your mistakes and eventually figure out what works best for you. Surround yourself with positive people who will help you grow and stay motivated. And lastly, always stay hungry because you never know when an opportunity will knock.

Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.

One thing that I believe that very few people agree with me on is the importance of building an email list. A lot of people seem to think that social media is the only way to reach their target audience, but I completely disagree.

Email is still one of the most effective ways to reach your target audience and convert them into customers. Not to mention, it’s a great way to keep in touch with your existing customers and build a relationship with them. So if you’re not currently building an email list, I would highly recommend starting today.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

I would say that on a daily basis, I try to think of at least one new marketing strategy or tactic that I can implement. It doesn’t matter if it’s a social media post, blog article, email outreach campaign, search engine optimization technique, etc.

You have to be willing to step outside of your comfort zone and constantly try new things. This is the only way to become better at marketing and truly stay ahead of your competition.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?

The one strategy that has helped me grow my business is the implementation of various automation tools and processes. There are so many different things you can automate in order to free up some time and stay productive. For example, email marketing, lead generation, accounting, social media management, etc.

It’s also really important to keep track of how you’re spending your time and see where you can optimize things. There are many different tools and services out there that can help you do this, so I would recommend experimenting until you find something that works best for you.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

One failure that I had as an entrepreneur was not delegating enough tasks to my team. I quickly realized that I couldn’t do everything myself and eventually ended up burning out.

I overcame this by delegating more tasks to my team and also implementing various automation tools and processes. This helped me stay productive and scale my business.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

One business idea that I’m willing to give away is starting a content marketing agency. A lot of businesses are starting to realize the importance of content marketing and are looking for help. You could start by creating a website and outlining your services. Then, start reaching out to local businesses and offer them your services. It’s a great way to get your foot in the door and grow your client base once you do.

What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?

The best $100 I recently spent is on a subscription to a CRM. CRMs are great tools that can help you keep track of your contacts, leads, and customers. They also provide a number of other valuable features such as lead scoring, email marketing integration, etc.

Without a CRM, you won’t be able to effectively manage your relationships with your contacts and leads, so I recommend looking into some of the more popular ones out there. It’s definitely worth it in the long run.

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive?

One piece of software that I find helpful for productivity is Asana. It’s a task management tool that lets you create and track tasks, projects, and deadlines. It also has a number of integrations with other popular tools such as Google Drive, Gmail, and Slack.

I find it really helpful for organizing my tasks and keeping everything in one place. It’s definitely helped me stay productive and on track.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

The one book that I recommend our community should read is “The Lean Startup”. It’s a great book that teaches you how to start and grow your business using lean principles.

It’s helped me a lot in terms of learning how to be more efficient with my time and resources. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in starting their own business.
