Run until you fall. Worry about process later.

Marc Lewis is a Raleigh based entrepreneur, writer and founding member of Remedy Review – a digital publication that advances the well-being of people through thoughtful content and elevates voices that contribute to a more natural tomorrow.

Where did the idea for your company come from?

Remedy Review saw the increased attention natural health was getting and thought the market could use an evidence-based website. Our goal is to talk to medical experts, leading brands, and influencers in the natural health space to help people make good decisions for their health.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

Our typical day revolves around content. We’re building lists of people we talk to, assigning articles, editing pieces. We stay productive because each team member has a very specific focus.

How do you bring ideas to life?

We have a good team of smart people. We’ve also done this before. Our team built HouseMethod.com and MattressAdvisor.com, so these media sites are our sweet spot.

What’s one trend that excites you?

People are increasingly turning online for information. That’s exciting. But when it relates to health, there’s a lot of bad information out there.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

Occasional meditation maybe. I think our team enjoys working hard and seeing results.

What advice would you give your younger self?

It’ll be okay.

Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.

One day love will be money.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

Watch old movies. Read old books.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?

Our team focuses on work and results over process. I think we have guardrails in place but we run until we fall.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

Managing a really big team is hard. I think I’ve failed by overextending.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

Cereal milk cartons (though I think someone’s doing it now).

What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?

Comfortable pants because you literally have to wear pants (most days).

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive? How do you use it?

I use notes on my phone a lot. It’s the home for all of my ideas for the site that we’ve yet to put into action.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

Moby Dick. Because it’s awesome and finishing feels like an accomplishment, the next book you read goes quicker.

What is your favorite quote?

“Reality is wrong. Dreams are for real.” Anything by Walt Whitman or Tupac are words to live by.
