Where did the idea for becoming a chiropractor come from?
I became a chiropractor after my grandfather passed away with stage 4 cancer. My grandfather’s doctor saw “pre-cancerous” cells in his bladder and they “zapped” then away. He was then instructed to come back whenever the symptoms came back. After following this plan for a couple years the pre-cancerous cells turned cancerous and spread throughout his body. It seemed that the doctors couldn’t help him until he had a full blown problem, then they could treat.
This inspired me to become a chiropractor because this profession doesn’t need to wait for a problem before we can begin getting you healthy again. There is a huge gap between being “healthy” and “having a disease.”
What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?
I start each day by getting up at 6am and I immediately jump into my morning routine. First I control my emotions and set my vision for the day with meditation, visualization, and goal setting. Next up is hitting the gym for a hour, and stretching after. Then I get dressed and ready for the work day. Lastly, I simply implement by daily routines because if I follow these then my goals are sure to be realized.
How do you bring ideas to life?
I love to learn and read all of the time! If I am cooking, cleaning, working out, traveling, etc I will have an audiobook or video playing in the back ground. This helps me get a broad perspective on topics, learning new skills, and overall it makes me more creative.
What’s one trend that excites you?
The growing trend that people are waking up. People are beginning to understand that emotional health leads to physical health. I capitalize on this by teaching my clients how to use their minds to create real, physical, tangible changes in their body.
What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?
I create my schedule the night before. Over planning and under planning are both a kiss of death for productivity. I want to plan by day the night before so that when I start my day I don’t have to think – I just execute my plan.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Learn to focus on one task at a time. Procrastination is the kiss of death. Only learn enough information to begin to take action.
Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.
Emotional stress is the #1 cause of disease in your body.
As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?
Meditation! An entrepreneur must have control over their emotions and you can’t do that unless you practice it. Meditation is an opportunity to practice controlling what comes in and out of your mind.
What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?
Releasing the fear of speaking your truth unapologetically. Talk about what you know to be true, and do it with passion. People can feel passion and truth – don’t give them anything less than that. A side benefit is you tend to stick with things you find enjoyable, so let’s make sure you content is congruent with it.
What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?
I’ve tried a couple of MLM’s and its really easy to be tricked into thinking people don’t want what you have to offer. Often times the product or service is great, but we must find ways to get this information to them in a way that THEY want to receive it. Give value first, be customer minded, and only stand behind a product/service you genuinely know will help people.
What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?
Teaching parents how the subconscious mind works, and how to apply this knowledge to raising children with the right habits in place.
What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?
Facebook ads – I put in $100 and walked away with $400.
What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive?
Google drive – I can save my word documents and videos here and access them anytime, anywhere.
What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?
“Never Split the Difference” – it’s the quite entertaining and extremely implementable. You will be able to apply what you read that very same day, amazing content and very effective.
What is your favorite quote?
“The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end there it is.”
