What is your typical day, and how do you make it productive?

A typical day for me is fast-paced and demanding, requiring constant attention to multiple moving parts, which keeps me energized and on my toes. My productivity comes from embracing the dynamic nature of leading a company, balancing the controlled chaos with a clear vision and strong commitment to our goals. By staying deeply connected with my team, ensuring in-person interactions, and understanding the pulse of the business, I can make strategic decisions that drive both immediate results and long-term success.

How do you bring ideas to life?

I focus on gaining a deep insight into every aspect of the project, ensuring that I’m aware of the roles, challenges, and contributions of each team member. By having this comprehensive perspective, I can effectively align resources and efforts toward a common goal, fostering collaboration and innovation. This holistic approach not only drives the execution but also enhances the quality and impact of the final outcome.

What’s one trend that excites you?

One trend that excites me is the sheer dominance of data in performance marketing. More than ever, it’s all about data, and more data, as advances in technology allow for faster crunching of the numbers, working backward from the KPI you’re looking for without bias. We’ve entered an era where performance is no longer just about evaluating creative elements with subjective or soft metrics; instead, it is about metrics tied to a sale or conversion. It’s becoming increasingly mathematical. The way we measure the effectiveness of content has shifted significantly. We can now analyze every piece of content’s performance with precision, optimizing campaigns in real-time to ensure every dollar spent has maximum impact. This data-driven approach allows us to deliver more targeted, efficient, and accountable marketing solutions, which is what excites me most about where the industry is heading.

What is one habit that helps you be productive?

Consistently staying connected with my team, whether it’s through in-person meetings or regular check-ins. Some of the in-person nature has gotten lost over the years, due to a shift in remote work, but I think it’s an important component that has to be a top priority.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Start Earlier. Fail Faster.

You don’t want to hold onto things that aren’t going well for too long. When you consider failing faster you need to be able to pivot and pivot quickly to get to your goal.

The hardest thing is starting. So start soon, just do it and focus on what you need to do to get going.

Tell us something you believe almost nobody agrees with you.

I don’t believe the saying “follow your dreams” is always the best approach. It’s great if you can reach that dream but I think the saying should really be “Follow Your Dreams To Be Successful,” by that I mean do something for work that will allow you to get closer to your dreams.

For instance, I wanted to be a race car driver but wasn’t able to reach that competitive landscape; However, what I now do for work enables me to have a lifestyle where I can enjoy racing and supercars. I might not be in the car racing, but the success afforded to me by a career I enjoy keeps me connected to my dream.

What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?

Focus on small, consistent wins. For me, it’s all about setting achievable goals that provide that constant feeling of accomplishment. Whether it’s something like working out to hit a desired weight goal, organizing my office every night before I leave, or doing a daily cold plunge, these small actions build a foundation of success. They keep you motivated and reinforce that feeling of winning, even as you tackle the bigger, more challenging goals in business and life. Consistency is key; when you master the small tasks, they empower you to take on the bigger ones with confidence and focus.

When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?

When I feel overwhelmed or unfocused, I find it crucial to reset my mind by stepping away from the immediate pressure. As an entrepreneur, I’ve faced plenty of moments where things felt difficult, but I’ve learned that taking a brief pause can be the key to overcoming them. I’ll often go for a walk outside my office to clear my head or call a friend or loved one who has nothing to do with work—just hearing a positive voice can quickly ground me. If I’m at home, I might go for a quick drive or tackle a small house project like reorganizing the garage. These activities not only help me refocus but also give me a sense of immediate accomplishment, which brings me back on track mentally.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business or advance in your career?

One strategy that has significantly helped grow my business and advance my career is making a conscious effort to surround myself with people who are smarter than me. I’m fortunate to be supported by a team of incredibly talented individuals who push me forward and help drive our success. Working with such experts has allowed me to focus on what I do best while trusting them to excel in their areas of expertise.

At Ai Media Group, our work is highly technical and math-based, yet my strength lies in sales. I don’t try to solve technical challenges on my own; instead, I focus on clearly articulating the vision and the outcomes I want to achieve. Then, I rely on my team, who are far more knowledgeable in those technical areas, to figure out the best way to get us there. This collaborative approach ensures that we’re all aligned and leveraging each other’s strengths, which has been instrumental in our growth.

What is one failure in your career, how did you overcome it, and what lessons did you take away from it?

One failure in my career was not handing over more of the reins of the business to others sooner. I used to take on too much myself, out of fear that things wouldn’t be done exactly as I envisioned. As much as I had a great team around me, I struggled with empowering them to make decisions independently. Looking back, I realize that this held us back from faster growth, limited the diversity of ideas, and put unnecessary stress on me.

Over time, I learned that empowering my team to take ownership of decisions not only frees up my bandwidth but also leads to more innovative solutions and better outcomes. Now, I have a fantastic team making decisions, and I try not to impede their progress unless I really see a problem. Even then, it’s not about overriding their decisions—it’s about talking it through and listening to all sides to come up with the best possible outcome together.

The biggest lesson I took away from this experience is the importance of trust and collaboration. By allowing others to step up and take the lead, we’ve grown faster, created a more dynamic environment, and I’ve found much more sanity in the process.

What is the best $100 you recently spent?

A credit card sized charger that magnetically sticks to my phone… no wires, super small and thin…and under $100. I never have to worry about a dead battery, as long as I remember to also charge it.. So I got three of them after my first use.
