Who are you and what do you do?
I am the inventor of the patented GoPillow!, a multipurpose baby pillow. I market and sell the GoPillow! through my company, Simply Necessary, Incorporated. Simply Necessary, Incorporated operates a website (http://www.simplynecessary.com/) where the GoPillow! can be viewed and purchased.
I am also the Tampa Bay/Lakeland Parenting Examiner for Examiner.com. I draw from my experiences as a wife, mother, business owner and former language arts teacher for my articles. I provide tips for helping families enjoy life.
How do you bring ideas to life?
As a wife and mother, I like to share ideas with my customers and readers that will make their lives better. I invented the GoPillow! because of my own needs as a breastfeeding mom. My Examiner.com articles focus on topics that are of interest to moms, dads and kids. Making family life easier and more fun is my main goal, so I’m always testing products, visiting places and searching for ideas to share with my readers.
What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?
It may be cliché, but if you’re only going to read one book, I would recommend the Bible. It’s the one book that can be used to learn about history, philosophy, literature and religion. The Book of Proverbs touches on topics that are still relevant today. The Book of Psalms teaches you how to give thanks and praise.
What is one piece of advice that you’d like to give?
Never give up on positive endeavors. The most influential and successful people in the world made it to the top by learning from their failures. Borrowing a bit of pop-culture slang, “let your haters be your motivators.”
What is one idea that you’re going to bring to life in 2012?
My husband is a talented artist, photographer and videographer. I plan to help promote his work. He is already gaining recognition and popularity in our local community.
