Where did the idea for LUXnow come from?
The idea came from us being in the luxury rentals industry for so long the traditional way, that we realized that it is better to be on the technology and booking side, rather than the inventory side, so we developed LUXnow app as a community for renters and owners to have a platform to interact with each other.
What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?
My day starts very early in the morning. I start with a work out and focus my goals on the day. I start my day with a delicious green juice. I get to the office at 9:30 and go through the different inquiries from my company and set up to be able to execute with laser vision. I oversee the different positions in the company and look at it with a bird’s eye view to make it efficient for the customers and also for my employees who are leading the charge who bring customer service to market. I focus on the positive and make my day productive by not letting challenges boggle me down.
How do you bring ideas to life?
I bring ideas to life by focusing on the ultimate goals of the project on a larger scale and then working backwards. For the app, I have been able to keep up with the times and integrate technology to access new inventory and streamline the process of helping users find luxury home and car rentals.
What’s one trend that excites you?
How everything is going digital these days. The old way of booking, speaking and interacting is the old way. The new ways allows for easier, faster, access and rentals that are happening in a more synchronized way.
What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?
Staying positive and working out. Focusing on the negative will take you off the path to success and you should always have a solution- oriented mindset.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t give up and launch the LUXnow app immediately.
Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.
Perseverance is a skill– it can be learned and you are not necessarily born with it.
As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?
Take time to myself to sit and focus on the bigger picture and understand that when there is a will there is always a way.
What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?
The best strategy was trial and error and accepting the fact that not everything is going to work, especially because we are working in uncharted territory, transitioning from the old to new way. I used this to my advantage to stay focused during busy times.
What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?
I was in some real estate deals that did not produce as expected which led me to exit the deal at a loss, understanding this is a life lesson that was needed. I stayed positive and was able to achieve bigger and greater and stronger deals in the future with this new knowledge I have.
What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?
Go secure, whether it’s lease or purchase and list them on the LUXnow app and getting them renting or making money for you right away. Also, you can create an app for people that own cars and want to rent them out.
What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?
I spent it on ear pods because it made me much more efficient and able to speak on phone calls and multi speak.
What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive?
Google analytics because it allows me to see where our customer base and dollars are coming and going from– a very useful tool for our business.
What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?
Blue Ocean Strategy by W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne because it allows me to understand that my competition is irrelevant.
What is your favorite quote?
“Never refuse an invitation, never resist the unfamiliar, never fail to be polite and never outstay the welcome. Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It’s probably worth it.
