Failure is the key to success. You learn from you mistakes and you course correct as you go.
Armen Ghazarians is the CEO and founder of Finish Fit®. Through his years of experience in the fitness industry, he has created the first global mobile fitness company. Finish Fit® combines technology with fitness, through its proprietary fitness and nutrition apps, to help its global members achieve their fitness goals.
Where did the idea for Finish Fit® come from?
Finish Fit® arose out of the need to train people regardless of their location.
What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?
I always begin by preparing my to do list the night before so I know exactly what my 80:20 looks like (for those of your readers who are not familiar with the Pareto principle, it states that 20 percent of your activities will account for 80 percent of your results). I delegate the 80% to others and I focus of the 20% that matters.
5AM -12:00 PM: Train Clients
12:00-12:30: Lunch
12:30-1:30: Get in my own workout. I listen to audiobooks as I work out to get my education in for the day. Most of the audio books I listen to are business related (i.e. marketing, branding, leadership, etc.)
1:30-3:00: Prepare and plan all social media posts for the day.
3:00-8:00 PM: Train clients
8:00-8:30-Meditate
How do you bring ideas to life?
Generally, I’ll test my ideas before I even try to bring them to life. It would be an awful waste of time to work weeks if not months on an idea only to find out it won’t work. I test my ideas by building funnels and running adds to see the results. I will only pursue ideas that have shown positive metrics.
What’s one trend that excites you?
Technology in fitness. I believe Finish Fit® is at the forefront of that technology. No other fitness company in the world matches our technological integration when it comes to delivering online fitness, nutrition, and education.
What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?
Following the 80:20 principle (as stated before)
What advice would you give your younger self?
Make sure you get your workout in every day. You cannot accomplish anything in life without preserving your own health.
Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.
That I’m going to make Finish Fit® the global leader mobile fitness training. Almost everyone I’ve talked to believes that to be impossible.
As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?
I workout almost every day and I take care of my health. You cannot succeed without your health.
What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?
I learned to write “copy” and I learned how to build funnels. I’ve lost count of the number of marketing, sales, and “copy” courses I’ve taken. The future is online. You cannot bring your ideas to life without mastering “copy” and learning how to build successful funnels.
What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?
I failed to convince the CEO of a fortune 500 company that my proposal would work. Failure is the key to success. You learn from you mistakes and you course correct as you go. Just because I failed to convince one CEO doesn’t mean I can’t convince another. The key is to be persistent and never give up.
What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?
It takes a huge amount of money and effort to make a brand new business idea work. So, don’t create a new idea. Instead, find one that already works and do it better. You can research the hottest selling products in the marketplace first by using the Clickbanks affiliate link. You can then pursue the idea that matches your field of interest and has been proven to work in the marketplace.
What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?
I purchased the Holosync® meditation course. It has been proven that meditation has many health benefits, so I recently began to take a few minutes every day to meditate. This helps me relax and reset for the next day.
What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive? How do you use it?
OneNote by Microsoft. I use it to build my 80:20 list.
What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?
“Give and Take: Why Helping Others Drives Our Success” by Adam Grant. Mindy Grossman, the CEO of Weight Watchers, makes all her employees read this book. I happen to agree with her that it’s a must read for success.
