What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

My typical day starts early. The start of my day is usually online checking emails and reports. I’m responsible for many employees and businesses, I find emails and online are the most efficient way to keep abreast of what is going on with all the endeavors we have. For urgent matters, I prefer to communicate via phone. On an average day, I conduct sales meetings, get updates on pending projects and work to maintain a positive and uplifting work environment. I usually work late into the evening. Many people wonder if I ever go to sleep.

How do you bring ideas to life?

When I have a business idea, I would do some preliminary research of the opportunity. Try to understand the market size and growth potential. Some questions I would ask if the “big Idea” is worthy of pursuing: What competitive advantage do I and my team have? How much funding would we need? Do I have the proper talents and staff in place to execute the vision? How can I use my existing infrastructure to support this new business idea? Do I need to find a new facility, or can it be with the existing location? Can It also be a real estate play?

What’s one trend that excites you?

The growing demand for real estate needs in Southern California. The transformation of mobility and transportation. Changes in Electric Vehicle, Autonomous driving, and the changing automotive retail landscape.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

I understand local retail shoppers. Majority of my businesses revolve around serving the needs of local customers.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Take more risks in your youth and more calculated risks as you become more mature.

Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.

Every business deal can be made with compromises. You need to understand who you are dealing with in every sense of the manner. It’s equally as much of a psychological understanding as it is an understanding of finance, services, or products.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

Have a big vision of what you want to achieve and align the resources, i.e. people, funding, property to get there.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?

Most of my business are tied into real estate. I was able to take my knowledge of real estate holdings to grow my enterprise beyond just real estate. For every business, we know office and retail space are a huge expense to the top line. The strategy is to minimize this cost.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

Though disappointments happen, we do our best to learn and overcome it.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

Investments in and operations of Electric Vehicle Charging stations, parking spaces and accommodations for the owners will be a growing business if not already business. Just think about this, charging an EV vehicle takes more time than gassing. There are only a limited amount of charging stations. The owner will have to be accommodated during the charging wait. After charging, the EV needed to be moved to a parking space. Figuring all this out will be a business opportunity.

What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?

A $100 used to reward a top employee to a great meal is completely worth it. Celebrating, rewarding, and appreciating our staff is a key formula to our successes. We wouldn’t be here without the people that help make this all possible.

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive?

As much as we are a tech savvy company utilizing great technologies in our everyday operations, I’m still very much hangs on. I like to be part of what is actually happening and rely on my technology team to explain and execute what are needed. As with any technology, its constantly change. We have our favorites but never believe that we will stick with one forever. As such we’re always on the lookout for the next best and greatest piece of technology and must be ready to change.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

Books are an important way to gain knowledge. What’s most important is to always be learning and gaining new knowledge on a daily basis. The idea of learning something every day is more important. Yes, books can be a part of that. Given the expansion of knowledge and information in every form now a day, one can gain knowledge in a variety of formats; internet, conversations, attending trade shows and conferences. The idea of learning every day is therefore more important than just books, we believe.
