What are you working on right now?

-2011 Everything Events Wedding Expo (Boston)
-Rhode Island Best Weddings for the Travel Channel with Bohler Productions

3 Trends that excite you?

1. New wedding business trends to showcase products and services in the wedding field (bridal bunch, wedding workshop, bridal bootcamps, etc.)

2. New trade show style trends (less business and more social)

3. New marketing trends in social networking and media

All these trends impact my business, because I work with vendors to enhance their business by producing successful wedding expos in a fun and interactive way. Providing an experience to the targeted audience is what makes my shows different than my competition, which allows my shows to have their own following.

How do you bring ideas to life?

Ideas come to life when you let yourself not only believe in the idea but can convey the message to others and have them believe in the idea as well. Passion and the ability to make things happen are the tools that are needed in bringing ideas to life.

What is one mistake you’ve made that our readers can learn from?

One mistake I made was starting a program with different expectations than the client. A contract keeps everyone on track and helps provide clear expectations for both parties. Make sure to keep a copy of the contract with you at all meetings so that everyone is on track and the expectations of both parties are met.

What is one book and one tool  that helps you bring ideas to life?

“Good to Great” by Jim Collins
Constant Contact is a great tool to send messages to your targeted audience.

What is one idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

One idea is to start a review column on your blog or website and review other businesses that would benefit your business. It’s important to provide a way to partner and build lasting relationships with other businesses.

Why is it important to participate in wedding expos if you are in the wedding industry?

It’s important to participate, because being involved in the wedding expo helps increase the exposure of your business and increase your sales by meeting a number of brides in one place.

How do you prepare for a wedding expo if you are paying to be a vendor or a sponsor?

You can send out an e-mail marketing mailer that you are participating and then send out a press release and invite brides to attend. Also, work with the event producer to increase your visibility.

Why do you find it hard to say “no”?

I have a hard time saying “no” because I love helping people and enjoy being involved in a lot of different projects.
