What is your typical day, and how do you make it productive?

I am up at 6am: 15min morning affirmations, get ready for my day at the office
7am: Breakfast (Healthy green veggie shake with probiotic and collagen) banana for the road, walk the dog
8:15am: Meeting with HR and recruiting team
8:30am: Meeting with Sales and marketing teams
9:30am-12pm: Zoom meetings Preliminary interview with potential candidates to fill roles within our sales and marketing teams.
12pm: Healthy lunch or protein shake
1pm-3pm: Client conference calls
3pm-5pm: Networking, building relationships and new partnerships, sourcing new deals and events
5pm: Working out or learning something new, or reading,
6pm-8pm: Team dinners, client meetings/dinner

I am productive throughout my day because I delegate the things that are my weaknesses or hire a company or someone to help, and I focus on what I am good at and enjoy doing, which is leadership development and training and development of our sales and marketing teams, also driving revenue and working hand in hand with T-Mobile and our clients to find new channels to help grow their market share and customer base. I maintain a very healthy diet, which allows me to focus and have energy (no caffeine, no sugar, no alcohol, no dairy) only organic.

How do you bring ideas to life?

For H!ero, I usually envision the plan or idea, and then immediately communicate it to my team, and execute with the right team members and team leads to launch or try a new campaign. I try to empower my team to work together and come up with ways to execute my vision. Sometimes it’s a success or a complete failure, but we just try again until it works or we move on to something else more profitable to the company and to our clients.

What’s one trend that excites you?

In today’s world of branding, companies have to think outside the box when it comes to finding a powerful strategy. It’s no longer enough to just stick with traditional media – using multiple platforms and outlets, both digital and physical, is the key to creating a successful brand. The trend of Integrating traditional and digital marketing methods has become essential in order to reach the public efficiently and effectively is one that excites me and the team at H!ero. This could mean developing targeted content for different target audiences on Instagram, setting up email campaigns to promote your brand online, or even organizing special initiatives at events such as trade shows or conventions. Whatever platforms you decide to use, your goal should be the same: creating a unified voice that speaks loudly and clearly about your brand so it stands out in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

What is one habit that helps you be productive?

In running H!ero, I plan my weeks the week before versus on a Monday, so I know what is going on for at least 3 weeks, so every morning I write down all the things I need to accomplish for the day. I prioritize the most important/urgent and hardest or time consuming, and leave the quick easy things last towards the end of my day.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Eat healthier and don’t be afraid to take risks and fail.

Tell us something you believe that almost nobody agrees with you on?

That your perception on something/life is your reality, so until you change your perception on things, your reality and life will never change. Or You don’t need a college degree to be successful.

What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?

I wake up and say what I am grateful for and give myself positive affirmations for my day.

When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?

I go talk to a team member at H!ero about something random or something about them and how their day is going. If my dog is at the office with me, which Marley usually is 2-3 days a week, I walk him and play with him.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business or advance in your career?

I am a huge believer of networking and learning for H!ero from people who are much more successful than you, and are producing more and accomplishing more, and then I copy, what they are doing. Especially with online and social platforms there is a plethora of information for any business owner to find a solution to any problem they have.

What is one failure in your career,  how did you overcome it, and what lessons did you take away from it?

At H!ero in 2014, I overlooked an assistant manager that I had promoted and delegated our client compliance meetings to and sales training to. I was so excited about the growth we were having and the revenue of sales we were generating. I failed and neglected, analyzing the details of quality of our new customer acquisitions, that our client found discrepancies in reps following SOP protocols, so I had to remove and let go 85% of my sales force. I overcame replacing this team by retraining and developing the crew I had left, invested into a new recruiting and training process of new hires, and week to week for 10 weeks grew back to 30+ sales reps. Biggest lesson is never get too comfortable and I learned that sometimes the closest people to you will disappoint you. In business you need to learn how to surround yourself around the right people and nothing should ever be personal.

What is one business idea you’re willing to give away to our readers?

Hire an amazing bookkeeper/Accountant they should be like a partner to you and your business.

What is one piece of software that helps you be productive? How do you use it?

Zoom, Calendly, it allows me to meet/talk to (clients, employees, etc) as if in person and helps me build genuine relationships in a more efficient amount of time and keeps me organized, even on the go when traveling.

Do you have a favorite book or podcast you’ve gotten a ton of value from and why?

JT Foxx Podcast Network because he interviews entrepreneurs and celebrities about current events and he educates audiences on business, entrepreneurship, real estate, financial literacy, etc. He is honest and direct and that’s important for me to learn from someone who is willing to tell people what they need to hear in order to level up their life or whatever it is they are striving for.

What’s a movie or series you recently enjoyed and why?

Yellowstone… I mean who doesn’t like Kevin Costner.
