Vincent Bonitto has been promoted to Marketing Manager of Southern Glazer wine and spirits. He started his career with the company nearly fourteen years ago. He was later recruited away from his previous company and offered a position in sales and marketing. Vincent Bonitto is looking forward to taking on the new challenges he will be addressing in his new position.

During the time he has been with Southern Glazer Vincent has seen and been a part of the growth in the company. The future is bright for Vincent Bonitto within the company. Southern wine and spirits have grown exponentially over the years. It operates in thirty-five states around the country. With his new promotion, Vincent plans to be with the company for many years to come.

Vincent Bonitto is a resident of Florida. He attended the Miami Dade Community College. In addition to his academia, he is married and is an extremely proud father of two sons. In his free time, Vincent Bonitto enjoys training with his eldest college-age son. He also enjoys spending time with his family and working out at the gym.

Where did the idea for your company come from?

I was fortunate to come to Southern Glazer. I was recruited from my previous company to come and work for this Southern Wine and Spirits. There was an opportunity with an opening in the sales and marketing department. I had been promoted to a from a warehouse position to a sales position with my previous company. In addition, I came to the company with three years of sales and marketing experience. After joining, I was with the company for thirteen years.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

I have started with my new position with the company as a Marketing Manager. There are many new challenges. I accept the new challenges very easily. I don’t get frustrated very easily. I am actually having fun learning exactly what is required in the new position. I like the competition. I look forward to every challenge that is thrown at me.

How do you bring ideas to life?

The way I bring ideas to life is to first visualize it. Then I make a plan as to how that plan may best be executed. If my plan is valid, I make it happen.

What’s one trend that excites you?

What excites me is the thought of entering my half century on this earth. I am on the precipice of entering into my fiftieth year. It is the pinnacle of my life. I am starting the story of this new part of my life. I can control that process. However, I am looking forward to it with excitement.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

One of the habits that I have is to pray often. I pray for the benefit of others as well as myself. It is a good way for me to start my day. I believe that engaging in prayers helps me throughout the day and I’ve had this habit for a long time.

What advice would you give your younger self?

What I would advise younger Vincent Bonitto self is to listen to the older people in my life who care for me and who I ignored when I was in my youth. These elders came with a lot of wisdom and knowledge and I ignored their guidance, which ultimately made me regret it. Hence, if I were to ever come across younger Vincent Bonitto, I’d definitely tell him to listen to elders’ advice.

Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.

I believe people can change fundamental aspects of themselves and deserve to be given a second chance in life.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

One thing that I have done with very positive results is to train my kids to be persistent. Especially with my son who is playing football. I told him that he would play in major college in D1 football, and he has succeeded in that goal. We worked and trained at it every day. It took up a lot of time. But I loved it. Being a father is the best role anyone can have in life.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?

The best strategy to have in business is to stick to your word. If you tell someone that you are going to do something make it a priority to get it done. If for any reason something falls through be honest about that as well.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

In my last position, I had a promotion to management. There were three other opportunities that I applied for and was not awarded any of the positions. I overcome those adversities with persistence. I just keep applying for better and better.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

For people to own a business, they have to come up with an actual business plan. Don’t go into business on a whim. Make a plan for an idea of something that you really are excited about long before you start.

What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?

The best hundred dollars that I have spent is when I purchased new business suits and clothes. It is an investment in my career that will pay off in the long run. Appearances are very important in a corporate environment. How you dress is a sign of confidence.

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive?

I am just beginning to master Excel. I use it with my sales formulas and gross profits.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. It is a story of grace in survival as a prisoner of war (WWII)
