Zhi Gang Sha

Master Zhi Gang Sha is a Tao grandmaster, healer, teacher, and author of thirty books, including eleven New York Times bestsellers and several others on the bestseller lists of the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Amazon. He is a spiritual leader. Zhi Gang Sha has an MD degree in Western medicine from China and is also a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. Master Sha has combined the essence of Western medicine with ancient wisdom to create Soul Mind Body Medicine® and Tao teachings to help humanity. Zhi Gang Sha is a grandmaster of several Asian arts and in 2002 was named Qigong Master of the Year at the Fourth World Congress on Qigong. With the creation of Tao Calligraphy, Zhi Gang Sha received the highest honors a Chinese calligrapher can receive, being appointed to the position of National Chinese Calligrapher Master as well as Honorable Researcher Professor by the State Ethnic Academy of Painting in Beijing, China.

Master Sha® founded the Tao Academy to share Tao wisdom and practices through classes, workshops, retreats, and training programs. Zhi Gang Sha has trained thousands of teachers and practitioners worldwide and taught many students simple but powerful self-healing techniques as a spiritual leader. Through the Sha Research Foundation, Zhi Gang Sha has sponsored scientific research studies that have shown the benefits of the Tao practices and Tao Calligraphy. For his original contributions, Master Sha was named the Spiritual Innovator of the Year in 2020 by the International Association of Top Professionals. A renowned humanitarian, he founded the Love Peace Harmony Foundation. Zhi Gang Sha has received widespread recognition for his service to humanity, including the Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Commission Award for promoting world peace.

Where did the idea for your career come from?

As a young child, I saw family members and neighbors suffering from illnesses and knew that I wanted to become a doctor so I could help people live healthier lives. I received a medical degree in Western medicine in China, and after having my own experience of healing with traditional Chinese medicine, I decided to train in traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. From the age of six, I began studying tai chi and became a master of several Eastern disciplines, including tai chi, qi gong, I Ching, and feng shui. I combined my knowledge of Western medicine with ancient wisdom to create Soul Mind Body Medicine and teach simple but powerful techniques that have helped many people heal and transform their lives.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

I am constantly guided and inspired by Tao, the Ultimate Source, as to where and how I should focus my energy and time. My team can attest that this makes me quite productive effortlessly. There is hardly a day when I do not teach healing and spiritual wisdom, knowledge, and practical techniques. I currently hold four online sessions every week, as well as longer workshops and retreats throughout the year. I also frequently join business meetings with my team. In every session, including business meetings, I also offer healing and blessings. Requests from the media, such as this interview, are another constant, and can be quite intensive at times.

Each of us is a creator. I am constantly creating new ways to serve humanity, including physical products such as books (I currently have six different books in progress), audio books, song and music recordings and concerts, Tao Water, and much more. I offer private consultations and healing sessions very rarely now, as I have trained hundreds of powerful “soul healers” and my fees are very high, as I have long established my reputation for success. In addition, I always enjoy studying ancient wisdom as a spiritual leader. Finally, I am constantly in communication with Tao Source and take time to meditate as well.

How do you bring ideas to life?

I have trained nearly two hundred Master Teachers, and my top teachers and staff help me lead events, workshops, and training programs, in addition to doing their own teaching and healing. I have very reliable assistants who help edit my books and deliver the teachings worldwide and to humanity. I believe everyone in an organization has good ideas to offer, and I listen to my entire team as we create many events, services, and products. Recently, my team guided me to create NFTs that have been very successful.

What’s one trend that excites you?

I am excited that more and more people around the world are open to alternative approaches to healing and life transformation. I honor Western medicine, but I have seen in thousands of cases how adding an alternative approach and self-healing practices have helped people to discover their own power to heal themselves and become healthier and happier.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

Although I have studied and mastered many disciplines and schools of thought, I do not rely on my logical mind, but rather on my spiritual guidance from my own soul and from Tao, the Source. Similarly, I value and listen to ideas and input from all of my team members but, finally, Tao makes the decisions. See my “typical day as Zhi Gang Sha” above for related insights.

In addition, while this may not be a “habit,” I have long recognized the value of a strong team. Over decades, starting and re-starting at times almost from scratch, I have now gathered and empowered a large and strong team worldwide in twelve Master Sha Tao Centers and beyond. I could not accomplish even one percent of my vision for service to humanity without each and every one of them. I am extremely grateful to them – Zhi Gang Sha cannot operate alone.

What advice would you give your younger self?

I have been blessed with a beautiful foundation of love and support from my parents. They showed me the positive and loving way to handle anything in my life. My mother was an excellent example of opening her heart and home to anyone in need. My father was an excellent example of a leader who was extremely humble and compassionate for all of those who worked for him. Neither my mother nor my father thought of themselves, but sought to always give what they had from their heart to others. I Zhi Gang Sha, would not be the same without the guidance of my parents.

I was a student leader from elementary school through university. I gave my love and service to everyone unconditionally. Their status, background, and more did not matter to me. I treated everyone equally.

Therefore, this has been my guiding path in every aspect of what I do and seek to bring forth in my life. I cannot say there is anything I wish someone had told me because I have learned so much from my parents and many, many others—both “teachers” and others—to help me become a servant for humanity.

There truly is no advice I would give to my younger self because somehow I had the wisdom to listen to and learn from my parents and all of the great teachers I have been blessed to have—and still have.

Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.

Many people may not believe or be aware of the power of the soul. Although millions of people are now meditating and using mind over matter techniques that have great benefits, many people do not realize that soulfulness, which is soul over matter, is more powerful. The soul can make things happen. I believe in the complete soul healing system. When we connect with our souls, and align our soul, heart, mind, and body, as well as connect with higher souls, we access our greatest power to transform our lives. This is the power of a complete soul healing system.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

I deeply believe that the purpose of life is to serve. In all the work I do, I only consider how to serve others and how to bring more love, peace, and harmony to the world. Focusing on serving from the heart and soul is a key to success.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?

A strategy that has helped grow my business is what I call “soul marketing.” By connecting with my soul and using soul communication, the Tao Calligraphy Healing Field and Tao teachings business continues to grow.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

I would not call it a “failure” but I know my family would like more time with me. That said, they understand my commitment to my mission and are fully supportive. In fact, they are key members of my extended team and their support is absolutely vital. We love one another unconditionally.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

Adding the power and wisdom of the soul to your business is a key to greater success. In my book (co-written with entrepreneur Adam Markel), Soul Over Matter: Ancient and Modern Wisdom and Practical Techniques to Create Unlimited Abundance by Dr. and Master Zhi Gang Sha, I share universal laws and practices to apply to create abundance, not only in business and finances but also in relationships and more. What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?

Actually, I never go shopping or purchase anything directly myself. My family and assistants take care of all my essential needs. I do like a good celebration, and occasionally will host a celebratory meal.

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive?

Being able to offer classes and workshops on the internet has been enormously helpful in reaching thousands of people worldwide.

What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

I would recommend reading the ancient classic Tao Te Ching by the ancient sage, Lao Tzu. It has been read and studied for over 2,500 years and is one of the most-translated books in history. While it is a short book, each sentence carries great wisdom that can be applied to every aspect of life.
