Where did the idea for your company come from?

My Kids, my daughter Lilly and son Kauan inspired LillyK Photography.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

I normally shoot during the day, spend quality time with my family after work and edit until very late at night.

How do you bring ideas to life?

I’m a very creative person. I get my ideas from simple things and daily things, everything around me is an inspiration. I also like to think outside of the box, though sometimes that can be a bit intimidating to other people, especially when it comes to business.

What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

I work hard, if I don’t know something, I work hard to learn. I aim for perfection always (I know perfection doesn’t exist, but I try my best to do everything the best I can. I challenge myself – I look for the different, for the unusual.)

What advice would you give your younger self?

To be a little more patient and to talk less, listen more.

As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

I challenge myself, I think outside of the box – I go for the unknown, I am not afraid of trying, even when I fail I still learn and grow.

What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

I do my best to make everyone happy, although it’s very difficult. Sometimes you want to do your best and you have the best intentions, but things go wrong and unfortunately, people don’t see it. It’s hard because at the end of the day we are all humans, trying to grow our business and do what we are passionate about.

What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?

I have a few business ideas, but can’t say anything about them yet. For now, I am getting into video/filming and I plan to do that more and more in the next few years.

What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?

A plane ticket from Singapore to Bali, $100. It was worth it, and I needed the time off.

What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive?

I use Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop to edit photographs.
