Where did the idea for your company come from?
I was raised in a Christian household while growing up. My father was actually a Pastor. He died when I was just around 13 years old and I walked away from all religion as a result. I had no inspiration to become a pastor. But the Lord had different plans for me and thus orchestrated a situation to wake me up. I had a problem with the law and as I sat in my cell, thinking over my life and regretting the mistakes I made, I had a visit from God. I had to straighten up my life and take this calling, take this second chance and become a better person.
What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?
I start my day early in prayer and meditation. My work day starts out with my strategy team. In addition, I have several businesses beyond my ministry work and I also have philanthropic aspirations that keep me occupied and feeling accomplished. Every minute of every single day is critical. I have to plan each day and delegate the workload to those I have trained to address the specific operation.
How do you bring ideas to life?
I bring ideas to life through meditation. With the help of daily meditation, I get inspired and I can see it. As a matter of fact, it is like a movie unfolding right in front of me. I put it out to my team and we work it out together and put my vision together to execute it. I have been using meditation as a way to inspire myself in the morning and it has really helped out. I plan on doing it consistently.
What’s one trend that excites you?
Technology is surely one thing that absolutely inspires and excites me! I like the way new things are transformed especially in terms of digital communications. I started a television network years ago and that technology is like a dinosaur now. The way and speed that technology has advanced in the past decade is absolutely stunning. It is growing at an exponential rate. I believe that media transforms the mind. I believe through radio and television I can transform people’s way of thinking and living.
What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?
I firmly believe that consistency and persistence definitely make me more productive as an entrepreneur and Bishop. When you have a dream, many people think that it will simply go well. However, it is not nearly as simple as that. In fact, you have to keep flowing life into it. You have to persevere. Never give up!
What advice would you give your younger self?
I would most definitely tell young Wayne T. Jackson to never procrastinate. Live for the potential that you have within. I waited too long for me to reach my destiny. I got sidetracked. If I were to do it all over again, I would not waste a single second of my life.
Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on.
Integrity for sure. Do unto others as you have them do to you. Don’t take shortcuts. Don’t tear anyone down. Some people on social media think they can make it in life without morals and character. That is simply not the case. Their fame is very often superficial and short-lived and it usually comes at the cost of bringing others down in exchange for their own fame. I believe that you don’t have to tear anyone down to bring yourself up.
As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?
My consistent faith and do what I am called to do and stick with the vision that God gives us. When you feel like you’re alone, exercise your faith.
What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?
Developing good relationships in business is so important. These relationships get you where you need to go. It is a very useful strategy / tool. You only need one person to connect with you to help you get your dreams to become a reality. It is a good strategy because it is not what you know it is who you know.
What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?
It was a lack of preparation and due diligence. It was getting too excited and not having the facts. It was executing a plan without having everything in order. I have learned from it and made sure to thoroughly reflect on it. By God’s Grace I pray that it will not happen again and I will not allow myself to make the same mistake twice.
What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?
I will give advice instead. Don’t quit your job or start your own business unless you are ready to nurture it to its fullest.
What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?
I help children get school supplies. I believe in giving as a way to help out the community. I believe that God gave us the law to help our fellow man. We should especially help those who are poor. We should know that everything that is placed in your hands is not necessarily for you.
What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive? How do you use it?
I would say anything to do with social media. I have a team of dedicated people that help me manage my social media accounts and we put up content on a regular basis. With these social media accounts, I can reach out to a lot more people and always expand my audience. I can also connect with more people that I can potentially help in one way or another.
What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?
Go back to the Bible. It teaches universal law that I recommend.
